tanks leaking were gauge screws into, need help !

hey guys i just recently bought a tank off the nation, and i just got it filled for the first time today, i noticed right away that their was a leak because i could hear it coming out, wen i got home i put it in a bucket and the bubbles were coming all from the whole were the gauge screws into. any ideas how to fix this ?

Drain the tank, remove the gauge, reapply teflon tape and screw the gauge back in.

Is it ok to use Teflon tape on tanks? I was told that it wasn't but I'm not sure.

If you apply it correctly it is. You want to make sure that you don't have hanging strands and such when you install it.

Ohh ok. How tight should you tighten the gauge? Like until it stops or pretty tight and at the angle you like?

I go more on the tighter side myself but I don't bottom it out.
