im in the market for a new barrel for my etek 3 and not sure what size bombz are.... i want to go with a .682 considering paint keeps getting smaller and smaller but i dont want to be breaking paint like crazy either.... any help is greatly appreciated

Underboring doesn't break paint so you're good.

You have a fairly wide window before your underbore becomes too extreme as to negatively affect the shot. The number I see most often (and the number with the empirical tests behind it) is .008. So as long as your paint is .690 or less you'll be fine (and I can almost guarantee you your paint is < .690).

That being said it is possible that cold weather might negatively affect your ability to underbore. While I doubt that is the case all of my underboring experience has been done in California where the coldest I've ever played was 40 degrees. If you're playing near freezing you might run into the limit before .008 (though my guess is when things are that cold the limit is going to be the bolt's force on the ball rather than your barrel bore).

I've used a .684 with it in so cal without an issue.
