Take your tank off and try putting a few drops of oil (make sure it is made for paintball markers) in the Asa. Replace tank and fire the marker about 20 times. See if that helps.

Edit
After the oiling try test firing it. If it still farts, try testing it with paint or with your hand over the feedneck. If you still have trouble I may be able to help you better via Skype.

As for the chopping, make sure your detents are ok and the paint is not super brittle. Oh yea, make sure the paint is .50 cal and not .68 cal.

Your gun wasn't receiving enough pressure to recock. If you take the reg apart make sure you put it back together properly. If you don't, make sure the reg is turned up.

The problem can also happen if your gripframe isn't secured tightly. Make sure it doesn't wiggle back and forth, but don't overdo clamping it down and strip the threads.

Also, make sure the Oring around the striker is red, it needs to be a special type of Oring to work properly.

.....make sure your tank isnt empty first.

if that is a regulator make sure it just isnt set too low, these guns need a certain pressure to recock themselves.

check the striker o-ring.
