Brand new clone, small leak :(

Brand new, just in today.

Im getting a leak out of what sounds like the rear frame oring (sealing the frame to the body) I replaced this oring and the leak is still there. I dont think it is that oring, however, because when I zero the regulator, the leak is gone.

The leak does not come on until I give the bolt enough pressure to fully cycle. Once the bolt is able to cycle, the leak starts. I check the orings that seal the noid to the subplate, they are good looking, cleaned and regreased them. The subplate bolts are snug and so are the noid bolts.

I was going to check the oring that seals the reg to the body but i cant get the gun that far appart (i dont have a long anough wrench on hand)

I replaced the three valve orings. (017) with two vitons and the spare buna that was in my kit (i dont have any other orings)

The valve fitment is really smooth, it does not have much resistance when inserted into the valve keg (with my orings and the stock orings)

Please help

Did it fix the leak? Make sure the gaskets have a tiny bit of grease for a better seal and longevity

did not fix. no change in the leak...

I grease them, but not too much. Noise is still coming from above the board. It also should be after the regulator (only leaks when the regulator is letting pressure through)

I dont really know what to look for now. The gun works and cycles fine. I dont have a pressure gauge.. Im thinking it might need more pressure to seal? Ive had this happen before. I cant crono it right now but it was shooting noticeably low when i shot it. I added a little pressure but not too much because I am not familiar with how sensitive these regs are.

In the past, I have had BL noids leak until I give it enough lpr and then they would seal and be fine for a long time.

edit: I just cronoed, im shooting int he 280 range. 282fps to be exact. ggasdfkemtrhnfntrgdggfd

replaced both power tube 011 orings, the fitment with the bolt is more snug yet the leaks continues.

also replaced the bolt switch/sail orings (016) and no luck.

edit: replaced outer valve keg orings (020) no difference

How tight should my valve fit into the valve keg? its not tight by any means, rather loose but does not have side to side play. slides forward and back VERY easily. I replaced the valve orings with the 017s i have on on hand (2 viton, 1 buna)

edit again: Changed the little oring that goes around the screw on the inside of the regulator (1x4, holds regulator in place)

NO DIFFERENCE. I am getting kinda worked up now :/

You can go to hardwear and get a long 3/16 allen key and see if the transfer screw oring is bad or is loose.

the 1x4 oring that likes to shred ? It was ruined and i replaced it.. no change

all manifold orings and supplate orings looked and felt good, and have been greased. I replaced the one that looked ruined but no change.

reg has also been zered and backed out slowly while dry firing. One thing I noticed, it takes a few turns out from zero (3 or so) before the bolt will fully cycle and dry fire a shot. still has the small grip frame leak.

I have done that too, no difference.

Eric and I have talked on facebook and agree that sense the gun is working (working great actually) that it would be okay for me to wait for GTI to come out before I send it in.

I ran it today for one game, Had to have my dwell up (16ms was perfect) to prevent bolt stick at 285fps. Fresh orings and cold weather. It was shooting lazers for that one game. Pod after pod. The leak is so quiet that you cant hear it at the field, to much background noise going on.

yep. enough cycling pressure that is. I dont think something is causing me to run too much pressure. With a good bore fit shooting 285 its a very soft gun and not overly loud. The drivetrain has pretty good fitment too.

here is a video of a new player shooting my gun. full auto but he tried to walk the trigger.

id tell u if u had another gt pull their drivetrain and swap see if it solves the problem ... i have 2 so it s easy for me .. and my teammate has 1 also

if it sealed than u know its a oring in the drive train .. if not u know its a noid subplate ... i dont see how it could be a reg oring ... would be leaking out of thier ...

I wish i could swap parts around, unfortunatly the only person I know of that has a mac dev is my buddy on the other side of the state.. He has a VX.

I am curious how my valve should fit into the valve keg. Mine has great fitment, almost too good to be true. I feel like it should be more snug and maybe those orings are not sealing. (i have tried mult. orings on the valve)

If the valve feels like it slides in and out of the keg very easily, then your o-rings are not snug enough. There should be a bit of friction there. If the valve is too loose in the keg then it can leak and not seal completely.
