clone gt velocity issue

went to the field today with my used gt that bought off pbn. I was having horriable velocity issues every time i would get on it, it would shoot 3-4 balls perfect and then it would shoot like it was starving for air balls barely making it out the barrel then right back to shooting 3-4 balls perfect.

my dwell was is at 12 so i adjusted it to 13 but still had the same problem.

put in a fresh battery still did not fix the problem.

over the crono it was jumpin +/ - 30psi

i dont get it / any help would be great thanks

Did you personally lube the drive ? And if so what type of lube?

when i got it it was packed with the orignal stock lube provided when you buy the gun new. I cleaned all that lube off and relubed the reg orings and bolt orings with monkey poo.

monkey poo should work but if you have the mac dev grease, try that. Just to rule it out.

It came with the old macdev lube not the new one that comes in a tube. I got the new lube on order since i heard its way better then the older lube. I wanted to play today and thought using monkey poo wouldnt affect it this bad? this is the only lube i had on hand.

I had some bad bolt stick today (dwell 12ms, violent grease)

my gun is brand new (tight orings) and it was rather cold out in west michigan. I upped my dwell to 16ms and switched to the mac dev grease. the gun shot amazing after that.. I cant say if it was the dwell or the grease though. maybe a combination of both.

the new mac dev stuff is really nice. It seems kind of runny but once you work it in, it sticks. Ill try my violent grease again when it warms up and my gun is somewhat broken in. Violent grease and monkey poo have worked very well in my luxes all winter.

I do not recommend running dwell of 16 on the GT. Would not go over 14 at tops.

I was having all kids of issues when I first got my clone. I use monkey poo on mine. I learned in the beginning that If I had a lot of lube on them I had issues. On mine I just get the o rings a wet look and no issues yours may be different

Use lube but then use very little oil to thin it out and report back. I put the oil on my fingers and rubbed it onto the already lubed parts and its God like. No bolt stick in 25 degree weather.

When upping the dwell it opens the valve longer on the noid allowing the bolt to stoke further but the keg will stop the stoke and end up breaking the bumper oring and could possibly lodge into the front oring and create a leak or even end up into air system and ultimately into noid.

What kind of oil?

Any gun oil. I used eclipse oil.
