Many times in my past nearly 20years of playing I have seen our fate lumped in with that of gun laws. If stricter gun laws are put on the books how long until we suffer as we have in the past?
Join 2nd Amendment supporters on the 19th at your state capitol.
Glad to see there is some discussion on this. Glad to see there are some paintballers that know their history. In the past when paintball has encountered barriers it is because those that are not educated on guns fear anything foreign to them. Coming out of the woods helped but the fact of the matter is we play a gun sport. Our fate no matter how many bright colors we wear or how much we try to call our gun a marker will not matter. Plus can you imagine what would happen to the industry if milsim did go away. Manufacturers put so much money into it not just because it's cool. It's because there is money to be made there. If businesses aren't making money they go out of business and that is bad for paintball as a whole. If you like the sport of paintball please encourage your friends and family to join us at our state capitol. If you just don't care, thats ok too. This is America we have the freedom of choice, I choose to fight for what I believe is my right, and for a sport that I have played and loved since 1993.
Here are some links to where you can find more info about what is going on in your state:
Washington DC : We can not push for people to show up at on Capitol Grounds in DC as permits are impossible being inauguration weekend. (With that being said I am sure people will do it anyway)
Hello patriots, it's Eric from "Gun Control = More Crime" again. "Guns Across America" is going to take place Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at "high noon." This is going to be a peaceful picketing protest against ANY, AND ALL future gun legislation. This is our chance to reach out to our elected officials, and tell them NO NEW GUN LAWS! "Guns Across America" is being tailored to happen in every states capital city**, at their capital building. The theory behind doing this event on a Saturday, is most conservative gun owners work a typical Monday through Friday job. I'm hoping for a massive response by doing this on a weekend.
Mission Statement:
Guns Across America Events are committed to supporting the Right to Keep and Bear Arms as outlined in the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. Our goal is to inform and educate the public about their Constitutional Rights . Our objective is to ensure that law abiding citizens retain those rights through peaceful and legal means.
This is going to be a great success with your help. All you need to do is show up, and make your voice heard. If you're state has legalized open carry / concealed carry, and you're legal to do so, I encourage it. However, please make sure we're all in compliance with state laws, as this event will be a reflection on all gun owners across America. All details and updates will occur on the page, "Gun Control = More Crime." I look forward to making this a huge success, so please share this update.
At Gun Control = More Crime, we are very well aware of the laws. We do not recommend anybody bring any long guns, rifles, shotguns, etc. to the "Guns Across America" events. If legal in your state, WE ARE NOT FORBIDDING IT, but we feel that it's unnecessary, and playing into the anti gun propaganda. We further advise all attending: you, and only you, are responsible for knowing any and all state and/or federal laws pertaining to the carriage of a firearm. Further, Guns Across America events, Gun Control = More Crime, Eric Reed, or any individuals involved with the Guns Across America event, are not liable for any individuals criminal actions that may, or may not occur, either intentionally or unintentionally.
**Some states are not gathering at their Capital City. Please check your States Facebook page/event page or ask your State Organizer for the proper location.
Wow, congratulations on making what is probably the dumbest post I have ever seen. Paintball is not going to be affected by gun control legislation, even if it passes.
As for that video, getting a bunch of right-wing gun nuts to protest is going to do absolutely nothing to stop any sort of ban. You'd have just as much (Read: Zero) influence by signing an internet petition.

Exactly. I'm so sick of hearing these people *****, I wish they would go back to exactly what it was at the time it was made their "right." Just to shut them the **** up. Here's your musket *****es.....
Now, I'm all for having a handgun, I'm all for having your shot gun, I'm all for having your bolt action rifle. But seriously? why in the hell would anyone need an AR? Sure they are cool, sure they are fun to shoot. But, if you want something like that so bad be useful and join the military, join a police force, join something they were intended for.
Also, the great minds that signed that right also supported slavery, while a few knew it was wrong they were "ok" with it. I suppose we should go back to that as well?
Get with the times, its gotten out of control, what is being done now should of been done long ago. No, it wont make a difference right now or even within the next 10 years but in the future... It will.

You and me are not on the same side of this argument. I love recreational shooting, and that includes shooting rifles like the AR. I just don't like right-wingers.
I think that an assault weapons ban is pointless and enforcement is a waste of taxpayer dollars. Rifles (including the bolt action rifles you mentioned) are used in such a small percentage of gun related murders that a ban would be like putting a band-aid on a broken leg.
Handguns are used in the vast majority of gun-related killings. They are small, concealable, and a single person can carry plenty of ammunition without anyone noticing.

Correct but all the right wingers seem to care about, anywhere that I have been in person, is their AR. That is why I strike them, where I struck them, with mention of their AR. They make no mention of anything else... just their AR.
I dont care either way, I am just sick of hearing them *****...
Well I've never been one to win a popularity contest. I really don't care about those that don't care about their rights. This is about more than just Assault Rifles, check into what just happened in NY. If you will be out there great we welcome the support. If you can't make it or don't care, I and others like me will be there to support your freedom....enjoy.
Um I got no problems getting guns. "Oh no! They're going to do a background check on me! Oh no, I have to wait 10 days to shoot my new assault rifle! I better start watching FOX news so they can tell me exactly how to overthrow my government. "
Have some more Kool Aid, and hug your LMG. The government is knocking on your door to take your guns and upper decker your toilet.

The reason they "*****" is because the AR is what keeps getting mentioned by name.
Also Politics is that way -->. Go whine about it over there and keep this political bull**** out of the PBTalk boards

I was at my State Capitol on Saturday.
Not because of paintball this time, just to support our amended rights.
Decent crowd of several hundred gathered.
But I have been there before over paintball.
At least four times in the past 12 years Paintball has had State legislature petitioned to ban the game altogether here in CT. All four were debated and turned down.
In fact, here in CT, the only Law on the books governing paintball markers is found under "firearms mimics & look-alikes" where paintball markers are specifically excluded. (unless I missed a new law during the past year)
The State actually donated $10,000 to a new paintball field last year to promote local sports facilities...So I don't see our State Reps favoring restrictions on something they spent tax dollars helping.
When it comes to Second Ammendment, CT is one of the States that has incorporated it into the State ammendments ~ only it's more general than the Fed in that it has no mention of Militia. The State Ammendment simply states "No Law Shall Infringe on the Right to Keep & Bare Arms".
i accidentally posted this in the wrong gun-nut thread a day or two ago, so i'll just duct-tape it here:

Consider Japan.
If possible, someone please dig up Facefull's quasi-recent article on Japan's paintball scene. It was pretty awesome.
Now, knowing what you know about world history, take a moment to let the words "Japan's paintball scene" sink in.
The short version is that at some point prior to the mid 20th century, Japan started acting like free-wheeling lunatics so we had to nuke them. Now to this day they can never have an invading army and as such, they have the most ludicrous gun laws on the face of the earth, something their citizens have absolutely ZERO say in.
You know what? Their paintball community is doing just fine. A little strange (below 150 fps by law) but fine nonetheless. Thats more than i can say for the paintball-apocalypse the OP is predicting.
We are a democracy filled with people who love both guns and paintball, usually in that order depending on what part of town you're from. It doesn't matter what people in congress or Obama or lobbyists or anyone else could ever want for paintball, they 100% CANNOT BAN IT. this gun bs does not touch us. The idiots shooting stop signs for kicks are NOT the crazy nutjobs shooting up kids. They're just idiots. we all know this. seriously, quit this nonsense because it doesn't affect us. that's not being ignorant, its 100% true.
