I'd say that if a company came out and posted private company business on Facebook, I might not let them sell products at my event either. Gino may be turning himself into the victim, but I doubt he is telling the whole story.

Ultimately, killing off the NPPL will increase the number of vendors attending PSP events. While it may not pick up every NPPL vendor, many of the companies that could only afford to attend one league will now have the resources to attend PSP events.

Vendors pay for space at PSP events. Gross income in vendor registration fees is not the only thing to consider when choosing who to allow at your events. You have to consider how each addition will affect the major sponsors that keep your league afloat. Technically speaking, the "fair and honorable" approach may be to openly allow any competing companies to attend your events, that's not how you manage a sustainable league. If you have a handful of companies paying your bills, you need to keep them happy if you want to keep your league in the black. This is no different than players voting with their dollars on which companies to support. The companies vote with their dollars on which league to support, and Valken voted against the league that everyone else voted for - the PSP. Of course they're not going to be treated the same as the companies that have stuck with the PSP for years.

And players wonder when paintball will be seen as a "Professional League".
As long as the manufactuers run the system it will stay in constant chaos and upheaval.

Only X amount of paintballs can be sold at an event. As of now, it is roughly X/2 = each vendors paint sales. Having Valken present means it goes to X/3, which means each vendor makes even less money.

Good for the consumer as there is more competition which helps to drive prices down, but bad for the vendors. Basically it sounds like a group of children telling the new kid on the block that he can't hang.

In case you haven't noticed, many major manufacturers have been manipulating event attendance in the direction of making the PSP our unified format.

i think its 25k if im correct to be a paint sponsor which at 3 thats 75k. not counting the probably 4-5k to be a vender so they easily make 100k per event revenue with ease. i for one like the valken product. i have no issues with it. more valken teams attend to shoot valken paint. means more entry money for the psp, sounds like plenty of revenue in my book

If Valken left NPPL, NPPL would die the all the teams would go to PSP and then there would be so many teams that the competition wouldn't matter because there would be so many teams.

I love you so much brosť.

As an addendum, if GI/Kee have any ownership of the PSP at all, not only would the above make sense, but the insistence that Valken add another $10,000 contribution on top of what the other paint sponsors are paying (a comp fee, essentially) would, as well. I'm not up on the ownership or controlling share makeup of PSP, though.

This is not entirely correct. The PSP didn’t allow Valkin to sell paint the previous season so they were forced to go elsewhere to sell their product.
Gino supported the PSP for years when he owned National Paintball.
I am sure that there is more to this than we are hearing but the absence of an official response from the PSP leads me to believe that what Gino is saying is the truth or very close to it.

I don't know that anyone is questioning the facts or timeline of what happened, but rather Gino's assessment of the situation as "extortion" (which it is not).

18 U.S.C. 2511(2)(d). This is called a "one-party consent" law. Under a one-party consent law, you can record a phone call or conversation so long as you are a party to the conversation.

dont need luck when you know the law.

Paintball News Rules
  1. No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
  2. Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
