PSP Attempts to Get Valken to pull out of NPPL.
The news has been all over Facebook yesterday and today.
Gino Postorivo - CEO of Valken Sports, who I happen to know personally, has posted a status update, claiming the following on Wednesday 1/16/13 @ 3:35pm -

Extortion?? Wow! Glad I have it recorded.

Hello Dear Valken,
Somehow a few hours after you guys signed the contract we have received an email from PSP where they said that VALKEN paint is not aloud there. So first of all we really need to understand under politics(because we do not want to be the cause of those problems for you) and second we wish to discuss plan B for a situation where VALKEN will be out of PSP.
|
I went and messaged Gino for clarification -
I asked Gino -
"What exactly is going on with the PSP? Did they really call you and attempt to extort you by telling you if you pull out of the NPPL and pay an extra $10,000, that they would let you sell in their series?"
Ginos reply via Facebook is - "Yes."
I am personally tired of all the back door, dirty politics that PSP plays and this is the second time that PSP has done so, with Valken. What does the PSP have to say for them selves?

NPPL is making stuff up because teams are withdrawing from the NPPL. Now they are trying to put the PSP in a bad day light?
Mweh, not falling for this kind of nonsence.

I think 2013 needs a new webcast for all the hating/slurs/rumours/***** fights; First event for me is Sunday but the slagging off is already well under way this season

The NPPL didn't make this up, everything is coming from the owner of Valken.. whom seemed quite willing to sponsor and provide paint at the PSP events.
Nobody has heard the PSPs side though.. but its shady man, real shady.

Meh keep Valken out of the PSP, every time I have shot their paint it has been garbage. From Their Field Paint to Redemption and even Redemption Pro. While the Pro shoots straight it still doesnt break all that often.
Sad part is alot of the fields out here have switched over to it because they are making it so cheap for field owners.

What are you saying? The NPPL paid Valken to do this? Because NPPL/Valken are not the same thing and the OP doesn't claim that NPPL did anything.

Extortion? Sounds like PSP was offering a business proposition with unfavorable terms more than anything.

I've been following this ever since he posted that first status too on Facebook. Seems really shady, but not going to say anything until we hear this recording, and PSP's response to this.

Drop the NPPL and pay us $10,000 MORE than the other guys pay us is a bad negotiating strategy.
If the PSP wants the NPPL to die it could make sense for them to get Valken to drop the NPPL. But if they have to pay extra money to do it then were is their incentive

I'm not sure where you've heard this?...
My field was considering switching but I've heard nothing about it being cheaper...

Both of the leagues need to grow up.
Shut up and play paintball.
Or in this case, it would be shut up and just give us a format/venue to play paintball.

I've shot Valken and it's great for practice but I wouldn't want to use it in a tournament, although to be fair I've never shot Redemption Pro either.
But great price point and quality for practice paint. Quality isn't there for tournament paint.
