The Etha is a good durable marker, but the only firing mods are semi and ramping... The Crossover is also a very good durable marker, and it also has full-auto, 3rd burst, ramping and mechanical semi, so when your battery dies, your still in the game with semi-automatic, and changing firing modes it pretty fast and easy, just a flick of a finger.... You should also note that the Crossover is a tad bigger and heaver then the Etha... So in the end, its all personal opinion, but I would pick the Crossover over the Etha... Hope this helped

But for very little, you can get the Virtue Board for the Etha, and have even more shooting modes, and only be $20 higher then the Crossover in over all costs. I like the ideas behind the crossover, (being able to use it without batteries), but personally, I find the selector switch crap, and I do not like how it shoots. It still feels like a clunky Tippmann.

I hated the Crossfires I field tested at the Monster game. I would not buy one for full retail price, ever. Ethas are underwhelming, but they work okay.

When mine shot, it bounced like a fiend too. I never switched them over to mechanical, because i was afraid they wouldnt shoot again. My hopper fell out of my plastic feedneck even though it was tightened all the way down and then the lever was flipped. They were gas hogs too.

I defer to blueshifty on the drone as I have no experience with them but if he recommends it I am certain it would be a great choice too.

I've generally felt that if one makes $$$ the major issue, with modern quality/PSP capabilities 2nd the Drone and Axe really become the only "perfect" choices.

I've had my Crossover since it came out. No issues with it, and with a Deadlywind Fibur barrel it shoots amazingly straight. I think the issues with the runaway trigger were due to everyone pulling the trigger spring out.
