have any of you guys tried DIY Powdercoating? My dad has the room for an oven in the garage, and the sandblaster and such already, so I may be able to convince him to let me buy/keep an oven there to do small parts. I don't really have anything in mind, I just think it would be fun to be able to do. I know he would love to be able to powdercoat the heads off his impala, but that would take a far bigger heat source.
Although the most likely scenario would be powdercoating a few things when I first got it, and then never going over there again.
Powder coating is actually very easy. I wanted to do it myself but my neighbor never had time to do it with me (has blasting cabinet, gun, oven)
Its as easy as blasting the parts, degreasing, heating the part, spraying powder (way easier than paint) and baking the part.
Only paid 90 to have the calipers and valve cover done, thats very cheap most places want 150+ PER caliper.

Yea powdercoating is pretty simple to learn. I have two friends that do it, one does it on the side of his house and the other runs his own shop and just ordered a C63 AMG so you can tell which one takes it a bit more seriously lol. I've helped the side of the house guy do some of his stuff and I've done my own stuff with him too. Proper prepping is the most complicated part of it since we had to do it by hand without a sand/media blaster. Once we stripped the frame bare it was 1. heat frame to 150degrees, spray the illusion purple on the frame, bake it, let it cool two 150degrees again, spray the clear, then bake it again, then let it cool completely. Overspraying is pretty difficult to do unless you sit there for an absurd amount of time and just layer that **** on.
Skins if you do it I'll pay a small fee to do some simple colors.

I took delivery of it last night so it was dark, and went over it today.
teh rear windw actually has like a weld bb on it
Rear windw ~10 chips, Rear driver door scratch, Rear bumper gouge/paint flex/black trim dent, Passenger fender has some ****ed up sandy texture, Excess wax on entire vehicle, clear coat scratches through the entire vehicle, especially bad on the hood, engine bay was never touched, manufacture writing on the wheels.
I took it to get some scratches the porters put in fixed, and they backed into something and ****ed up my rear bumper.
Plus the window has at least 10 of these, and I even found a weld bb melted into the glass in one of them.

well thats what I'm going to discuss, I used to work at a restoration shops with some of the best paint jobs I've seen, after seeing they can't even back a car up that has a back up camera on an 8.4" screen I'm afraid of what they're going to do to fix it

Not sure if any of you guys have seen this video before. I wanna know what kind of crazy turbo and fuel he's running that allow him to make 860hp at only 14psi
EDIT: Just read the article. The turbo is an "Extreme Tuners custom Turbo". Well that's descriptive But Extreme Tuners did make all of the internals, and they make some pretty crazy stuff They say the setup itself is capable of 1400hp.

I am never using nasioc ever again. It is a joke. The mods are a joke. Some of the super mods are just now hearing about the scammer (who scammed me) and how he has plagued nasioc after I PM'd and begged mods to post IP so we can trace him. I helped save 6 people from dealing with him. I did a lot of leg work. Then a mod starts closing my threads saying I am doing it wrong :/ does nothing to help. Then the ultra mod steps in, says blah blah blah, thread closed.
I pm'd him to tell the other moderator in question to kick rocks in flip flops and maybe get a ****ing clue. HELP OUT THE MEMBERS OF YOUR FORUM. WE ARE YOUR COMMUNITY! HELP US HELP YOU!!!
Never using NASIOC again... iwsti has better write ups and less attitude anyways.

Hello peoples, been a while since I've been in here. So it's been bitter cold here lately and I've started smelling fuel under my hood on the passenger side. I can't see any leaks but I also can't see the fuel line that is apparently notorious for leaking when it's cold. Anybody have this issue before? Wondering how difficult it is to repair
