Rotas installed. Only rubs over big bumps, im happy.

Edit: Really want to get that damn little reflector out of the headlights, but don't want to go through the process of baking them and all that **** for an inch of orange plastic.

Also, I need tint.

Buddy of mine just got his LGT's motor built recently. I'd say literally less than 50 miles on the motor, not even partially tuned yet, and the ******* goes out and races an Evo on the interstate. Blew the motor to pieces. Three inch cracks down two separate cylinder walls. The most badly damaged motor Kale has ever seen.

Now the kid wants to sleeve it. He literally just put $15,000 into that car for the motor he just blew up, the turbo kit, and the 6 speed. Before the first motor was even finished he told me that he wanted to make 800whp like my car and that he was going to sell the turbo kit that Kale just built him and rebuild the motor again (before the first build was even finished). He's going to have to drop ANOTHER $20,000 into that car now.

I wouldn't trust this kid behind the wheel of a 300whp car, much less an 800whp car. I've heard numerous stories of him doing 180+ on his bike. Flew by my ex once doing 160+ while she was on her bike. He doesn't know anything about cars in the slightest, or about the inner workings of a motor. I suppose that's exactly why he raced without any sort of tune on his car. He literally just walked into Kale's with a stack of $100 bills and said "Make my car 400whp. I want to beat my friend's Evo", and pointed to a random turbo and said "I want that one", before Kale even had a chance to discuss options with him.

I'm just ranting, but people who aren't responsible, or who don't have any common sense whatsoever for that matter, should not be driving cars like this.

I dont feel so bad now. But my car is still the gay right now. Have to wait till Saturday to go get it worked on/tuned. Praying to the gods of jelly nothing is friend. At idle the engine is making louder more obnoxious (less than desirable) noises

I forget if I told anyone its cause they didnt fasten down the oil pressure sandwich plate tight enough? So ****ing lame

OH in other news; I watched my roommate pour luke warm water into a pot followed by macaroni. He is sitting in the kitchen currently stirring the pot without the water even remotely near boiling yet I try to help him out and all I get is lip. This is who I am surrounded by trying to tell me not to be paranoid about my car/engine

EDIT: my innovate EGT gauge sucks dick. The support guy says plug it into the LM Programmer... Nothing happens/helps. He says do the same thing but open the LogWorks to read the realtime data. Nothing happens. And WTF is this guy thinking??? I am going to roll down the highway with my laptop in my seat reading my EGT. Its the reason I bought a gauge you dumb ****er!!!!!

Omg I want to punt a baby

Uhh, not to be an ***, but if you blow a motor it has more to do with your tuner/whoever built it than you. People take and beat the **** out of newly built motors all the time and have no issues. Especially if it has forged internals (like I'm guessing it did saying he dropped the cash he did on it).

Now, if he dropped that cash on a build, why the hell did the tuner not put a break-in tune on it so that you could break it in properly?

I'm not disagreeing that the kid sounds like an idiot, but I wouldn't go as far as to say it's entirely his fault.

You have to understand the motor has to go through a break in phase and the inside has to "cure" so to speak. The motor has to oiled, drained, oiled, ran for at least 500 miles, drained, another round of oil (this is where you can tune for moderate power), after the next 500 miles the oil is then drained, synthetic oil is added and you can tune for full potential.

You are correct that there is a break in tune. But that tune still has the ability to accept boost. You can't lock the compressor wheel to keep the car from entering into boost. You drive the car slow and easy while putting different loads on the engine in different rpm ranges.

These were the instructions given to me... but my tune is **** right now. It needs a more comprehensive tune and diagnostic. What I think the kid did is push the car hard taking it into uncontrolled boost. He maxed the turbo without tuning in the right AFR, superheated the cylinders, and cracked his block.

This is just my guess... definitely a case of over boosting especially in this cold weather.

170k miles. Doesn't say it in article but one of the pictures shows it.

I've seen some STis go for 11-13 or so if people wanted to sell them fast. One sold here in town that had some nice exterior work, Stage 2, but he wanted it gone and it went for 11.5.

Not a bad deal if it's been taken care of but it's from a dealership so hard to tell.

Also, said it was completely stock. However, there is a giant melon shooter out the back end of that beast. On top of that... I have never... EVER seen stock ride height that ****ing bad in the rear end. I know there was the saggy butt issue with the older models but DAMN! Can anyone confirm they left factory with a big ol *** in the air.

I would definitely question the "stock" statement. I would want to know if it was demodded because, in my own personal case, prior own didnt divulge everything he did to my vehicle. He said it was demodded stage 2 (intake/exhaust/AP tune correct?) and that he had everything taken off. However, there are Perrin fron Pillow Ball mount bushings and an old school adjustable rear sway bar still under this *****. I found what appeared to be a core sample from planet earth underneath the side skirts. Clutch was BEATEN ON! 47K miles and I need a new clutch??? C'mon man... And there are some other ****s.

Bottom line... be very VERY careful. If I buy used next time... I will only buy a year or two older from someone I know/trust or someone that didnt do **** to their car. Props that it has some new major maintenance stuff done. Id ask for proof

Buying used cars of any year isn't an issue, you bought a car with a known flaws from the manufacturer. My car is older than yours and has more miles, but no problems here.

You can have a $100,000 sleeved/oringed/pinned/supported/"made of unicorn horn encased in carbonite with a hint of Chuck Norris' pubic hair" block, but if you run it tune-less, you can blow it up just as easily as a stock block. Okay, maybe Chuck's pubes would make it last a little longer .

We only have one tuner here in VT, and he's pretty new and not used to tuning built cars. He's a cool guy, but he's still learning. But the kid wanted to go to a different tuner. Not because the tuner here is too new, but because he "didn't like his dyno". While this tuner is new, he has a load-bearing Dynomite dyno, which is one of the most accurate types of dynos you can get.

But like Corey mentioned, the motor wasn't anywhere near done its break-in period.

Corey, you're right. He took the car into WOT (under WG pressure, I'd imagine, which is still ~20psi on the 30) to race the Evo, and the motor probably saw 16:1 AFR and said "Nope. **** this. I ain't dealin' with dis ****.", and popped.

I had to google WOT to remember :/ 16:1 isnt bad seeing if main operating level is around 14.3-14.7 and 14.5 should be the idle reading. But I could imagine what 16:1 would do depending on how long he was completely on it. But what I think you mean is that instead of going rich (10-13)he leaned out and it ****ed everything up :/

I need to research because I want to get into tuning and learning about it. Something to keep my mind and hands busy when I have free time.
