I don't know how you guys like this trigger. I spent 2 hours trying to get this thing right. Adjusted screws all over and even tried a different spring. I cannot get this trigger to walk consistently. Strangely, I can walk it fine left handed go figure. If I pick up my axe...it rips everytime. I want to love this lil marker, its so nice, but this trigger is killing me!

I would use ramping, but my fields dont allow it.

It's probably the long hook at the bottom. It gave me a bit of a problem too since i have small hands.

Try to set the trigger switch screw out as far as possible and then adjust the pre-travel in further to compensate. That will help swing the trigger backward for you a bit. Then go into your settings and lower your debounce setting. It may just be set too high for your particular gun.

You can also try setting the trigger really short with a heavier spring.

Yep...no dice. Me and this trigger do not get along. I gave it a solid though.

It probably won't matter. I've never had a gun with such a hard trigger to pull, even though I got it to work for me. It's like one of the old cyborg triggers....they were tough as well. Hated those things.

My Proton absolutely destroys paint only in PSP mode. When I run it in regular ramping it works with no issues and I absolutely love it... any tips on how to prevent?

Hmmm what are your rates of fire capped at for each mode? Maybe one is too fast for your hopper and one is not.

Maybe your hopper is activating a bit slow. In normal ramp it's a more gradual ROF build up......in PSP it's instant after the third shot.

Try and adjust your ball in position accuracy. This is orange and green led illuminated in programming mode. Factory is setting 2 (medium). Adjust it to high (setting 3) which is meant for fragile paint.

I always ran mine at 3........never had an issue. I never broke a single ball in it. Granted I only played in semi.

Tried calling Mokal? They've always been great whenever I give them a ring.

I've tried looking around but can't find any. Is there any upgrades for the proton. Looks like a great gun. Really would want a different trigger for it though.

No upgrades out yet. Most have just changed out the spring to make it a better trigger pull.

I wouldn't expect any upgrades other than factory ones to be honest. I still say some old intimidator triggers could be modded to work on the proton.

Great Customer Service

I had reason to send a couple items to Valken for repair. A VMAX loader under warranty and my Proton for an eye and solenoid issue. Repairs were performed quickly and communication was excellent. Debbie Postorivo was on top of everything and let me know when my parts were received, when repairs were completed and when the repaired items were shipped back. Connie Wettstein let me know what was covered under warranty and the costs of parts & labor for the rest, which I must say was very reasonable. Dylan Noker is a great tech and completed the repairs very quickly and every thing works great. I would have posted this sooner but I just got back from the West Coast PSP event in Southern California and today was the first chance I had to shoot the marker. It RIPS!

Thanks to everyone at Valken

So the summer is coming to a close and the Proton will be 2 years old soon. No doubt Valken has made plans for 2015; so is there anything you can share ValkenDylan? Proton changes? New colors? Other new gear?

breach not clear problem

Hi all,

got a problem and can't find out what's wrong.

I turn the marker on and air up.When I wanna shot the red light blinks three times and stays red. According to the manual it means breech not clear.

I cleaned the marker, took it apart, checked O-rings, lubed.

Still the same problem.

Any ideas?

Thx

Are you dry firing or putting paint thru it? I had a similar problem where paint wouldn't feed into breach. Bolt was sticking a little to far forward. Put an oring on the back of the engine, and that fixed it.

Yes, I had the same problem. My bolt was too far in preventing balls from dropping in.

One should also mention that cleaning the eyes is not enough to remove a build up of gunk in the eye holes. Make sure the eye holes are clean all the way through.
