Paintballers WE ARE NEXT!!! ARE YOU IN??

Many times in my past nearly 20years of playing I have seen our fate lumped in with that of gun laws. If stricter gun laws are put on the books how long until we suffer as we have in the past?

Join 2nd Amendment supporters on the 19th at your state capitol.

Glad to see there is some discussion on this. Glad to see there are some paintballers that know their history. In the past when paintball has encountered barriers it is because those that are not educated on guns fear anything foreign to them. Coming out of the woods helped but the fact of the matter is we play a gun sport. Our fate no matter how many bright colors we wear or how much we try to call our gun a marker will not matter. Plus can you imagine what would happen to the industry if milsim did go away. Manufacturers put so much money into it not just because it's cool. It's because there is money to be made there. If businesses aren't making money they go out of business and that is bad for paintball as a whole. If you like the sport of paintball please encourage your friends and family to join us at our state capitol. If you just don't care, thats ok too. This is America we have the freedom of choice, I choose to fight for what I believe is my right, and for a sport that I have played and loved since 1993.

Hello patriots, it's Eric from "Gun Control = More Crime" again. "Guns Across America" is going to take place Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at "high noon." This is going to be a peaceful picketing protest against ANY, AND ALL future gun legislation. This is our chance to reach out to our elected officials, and tell them NO NEW GUN LAWS! "Guns Across America" is being tailored to happen in every states capital city**, at their capital building. The theory behind doing this event on a Saturday, is most conservative gun owners work a typical Monday through Friday job. I'm hoping for a massive response by doing this on a weekend.

Mission Statement:
Guns Across America Events are committed to supporting the Right to Keep and Bear Arms as outlined in the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. Our goal is to inform and educate the public about their Constitutional Rights . Our objective is to ensure that law abiding citizens retain those rights through peaceful and legal means.

This is going to be a great success with your help. All you need to do is show up, and make your voice heard. If you're state has legalized open carry / concealed carry, and you're legal to do so, I encourage it. However, please make sure we're all in compliance with state laws, as this event will be a reflection on all gun owners across America. All details and updates will occur on the page, "Gun Control = More Crime." I look forward to making this a huge success, so please share this update.

At Gun Control = More Crime, we are very well aware of the laws. We do not recommend anybody bring any long guns, rifles, shotguns, etc. to the "Guns Across America" events. If legal in your state, WE ARE NOT FORBIDDING IT, but we feel that it's unnecessary, and playing into the anti gun propaganda. We further advise all attending: you, and only you, are responsible for knowing any and all state and/or federal laws pertaining to the carriage of a firearm. Further, Guns Across America events, Gun Control = More Crime, Eric Reed, or any individuals involved with the Guns Across America event, are not liable for any individuals criminal actions that may, or may not occur, either intentionally or unintentionally.

**Some states are not gathering at their Capital City. Please check your States Facebook page/event page or ask your State Organizer for the proper location.

When have gun laws affected paintball? I'd like some citations (unless they're somewhere in that video which I can't watch at work).

I'm not allowed to have a paintball gun in my apartment, or even a squirt gun for that matter. Apparently water is a dangerous projectile.

Says who? Our government or the owners of your apartments? Two vastly different things.

Ah. So it's somehow the government's fault your college decided to initiate such rules.

Guess what... you have the option to live elsewhere. Not only do you have that option, but it's almost always the better option.

This isn't the government's decision. It's your school's decision. Don't like it? Move out. Simple as that. No need to ***** about some imaginary connection because that's the way you wish it would be.

I can have firearms in my apartment. I can have paintball guns in them. I can have damn near anything. The only thing they don't want is smoking, which I'm fine by. It's not your property, nor is it my property, therefore we cannot make the rules with which to live by. When you own your own property, you can do as you please.

Wellll that's not entirely true, the HOA rules still apply to you as an owner. But your point stands, no government has gotten very far banning paintball guns, though occasionally the idea of restricting replicas comes around. IMO that's something states and municipalities have the right to do, to deal with local circumstances.

I don't know much about HOAs, but I was under the impression that they are
a) not universal
b) restricted to only certain areas
c) only incur to those buying land that was subdivided

But yes, I think you're generally right. Most houses would fall under these categories. Still, the choice is yours to make as to what circumstances you want to live under.

My point still stands - This has pretty much no correlation to the paintball industry.

HOAs apply to apartments and managed communities/subdivisions. They are not universal, however the only point I was making was that they do apply to you even if you own your unit.

Depending on the municipality, there might be some ordinances as well affecting what you can do on your property (including the discharge of airguns/paintball guns).

germany has very strict gun laws and they banned paintball because of a school shooting.

you are right there is no correlation really between them but morons see paintball as "killing training" or some bs

I don't think HOA's are enforcable? I'm not sure on that but I looked into it a long time ago and I don't think there is **** they can do if you dont comply but complain. I suppose it depends on the situation and who you are dealing with if they try to take you to court but i don't think legally the police will do anything to you.

That's nice that you point that out. Kinda like how "assault rifles" have little to no impact on actual crime numbers in the United States and yet they're currently being targeted by this administration, most on the left, and some on the right.

If guns are banned, paintball could easily be banned as well the moment some politicians start saying that it has correlation. With the gun lobby defeated at that point, who will stand up for Paintballers? Nobody, because most people aside from paintballers themselves will believe what is told to them and allow it to happen.

I'm just pointing out that you're making some quite rosy assumptions.

When people start killing classrooms full of 1st graders with paintball guns instead of assault rifles then I'll start to worry about paintball guns getting banned. Until then I don't see it happening.

You apparently don't understand how politics works. Perception is reality when it comes to politicians choosing what we are and aren't allowed to do:

Quote:
Violent video games, a frequent political target in Germany, once again came under fire following the horrific school shooting in Winnenden on March 11th.

While there were renewed calls for a complete ban on violent games, it was, surprisingly, paintball and laser tag which, ultimately, will find themselves outlawed.

The Local reports that violators of the upcoming bans could find themselves on the wrong end of a €5,000 (about US$6,800) fine. Wolfgang Bosbach, deputy head of the conservative Christian Union parliamentary group, commented:
