Dealing with flashbacks , any advice?
Well ,
Therapy doesn't do a thing . I can't get rid of them. The dreams keep coming
The only thing that puts my mind at ease is waking up to a Marlin on the line ?

I've found that alcohol makes everything all better, but too much alcohol makes things much worse. I've found that the busier I stay, the less ****ed in the head I feel. Dogs are the **** too, if you don't already have one.

Yeah a lot of this and other rescue missions mostly ones that didn't turn out well , and ones that never happened which is weird.

Animal mother is spot on for me. I try to stay busy, if I drink too much I get worse. I'm big on sounds, so hearing a helicopter sparks up a lot of emotions. I vaguely remember my dreams. It's almost always involving a Helo or the trauma bay. One dream I do remember vividly is me running to the trauma bay with 4-5 blood bags and I trip and fall and I break all the blood bags and then I wake up covered in sweat and breathing heavily....
Tried the shrink multiple times and it doesn't do ****. I just keep it all bottled up inside, it's easier.

I know the feel, I can't even masturbate anymore. It was my only way of dealing with stress on the battlefield but now every time I try I can't get it up. It takes me back to 2006.
The sounds are the worst. It's like hallucinations of helicopters and gunshots.

I would like to suggest EMDR, it is kind of controversial, but it works wonders. It basically helps disassociate certain memories with bad things, and makes "good/healthy" associations with bad thoughts. Kinda lessens them.

Hopefully this helps.. If any of you happen to be in Central California, I have a therapist that I can refer you too. (I have not needed her services, nor had a therapist, but I do know that she specializes in it, and has done seminars regarding this study)

Riding motorcycles too fast works for me. It pushes everything else out of your head and is pretty tiring after a full day. Just keep it on a track so you don't kill yourself.
