There is a lot of industry presure to merge the leagues to merge. PSP has done their best to do it. NPPL truely believes their format is more marketable and that even though they've never made a profit, millions are right around the corner.

The terms of that deal have got to be the most stupid ****ing thing I have ever heard. These people run our industry, does that concern nobody!? Honestly, what the ****?
Interesting, the NPPL probably just doesn't want to be bought out due to the fact that if/when they come back they would have to agree on what could potentially be bought back leaving the PSP open to take most of the NPPL's assets??

NPPL has never been marketable. Even when they were the only league they could never get anyone to watch. ESPN rarely showed their games and only did it late at night because the ratings were so pathetic.
Judging by their actions in the last few years and their lack of interest in the backlash I'm pretty sure they are trying very hard to piss off the paintball community. I'm pretty sure the only reason people put up with them is because they have been around for so long.
The difference is you can know absolutely nothing about paintball and watch a PSP event and still enjoy yourself and be able to keep up with the action. The NPPL webcast isn't as entertaining. The games are slow and they don't explain the lingo very well.
Personally, I would skip the negotiations, let the NPPL die, and then cherry pick their assets as they're auctioned off to settle what will surely be a significant debt. If it's cheap enough, I would then buy the rights to the NPPL name and bury it. The industry has already spoken on which league is more survivable - just look at the sponsor pages.

I can't wait for the NPPL to die so there can be a PSP event at HB

I highly doubt we'll ever see a PSP event at HB. The cost for the venue has to be insane. Notice how the PSP has moved to cheaper locations (paintball field) in the past years.
Space is also a consideration for the PSP, I do nto believe that the HB venue (as awesome as it is) would be able to accomodate a PSP event.
