Mini, Y-Framed, MQ2'd Cocker Project

I don't have a name for this build, just a goal of where I want to end up. The idea is to make this cocker as small as I can, while still functional. It will be a slow build, as the parts are expensive and I can't acquire them all at once. Here is a mock-up of the parts as I have them now:

What is in store:
Midgetizing - as small as I can make it with the MQ2 valve
No-show half black, the bolt pin will be inserted through the bottom of the frame, not readily field serviceable. Possibly custom made delrin bolt, no o-rings for minimal resistance.
AKA 2 Litre +
Aka SCM
ANS Ram
Some sort of drop-forward, have to pick one that will balance the marker well
I have a T-board, was going to get a Tadao but don't see much need for it at the moment.
Still need to acquire eyes and a solenoid.

Try to use break beam eyes with the t-board, it doesn't have eye sensitivity settings for bounce beam so it can be a pain to get it to work correctly, ego 5/6 eyes should be plug in.

Thanks for the info, I was looking at the break-beam kits on eBay thinking it might be worth a try.

You'll probably want to use a tap and thread the IVG deeper into the body and run the MQ2 without a spacer, then cut flush with the IVG nut (though you might want to leave the bottom of the tube alone or the cut will leave you without any space to thread the rear frame screw into).

I would recommend a bolt like on the species timmy (you'd still need to drill the top of the body for removal) you'll have to make that small a pump arm (cut and die threads on one).

I would recommend a reg with a fitting near the bottom, the 2liter's will get in the way, maybe a hyper 2/3, macdev gladiator (any gen), etc.

I would suggest a belsales ram rather then the ANS if you're going to run qev's on it, the qev'd belsales will run faster than the MQ can shoot, use less pressure, be smoother & on top of that, it's rebuildable whereas the ANS ram isn't.

The solenoid you can get at paintballgateway.com, they even have gaskets & screws available.

These are my suggestions, you may want to go with something else for looks.

Slight direction change for the build:

The Y-Frame is really the shape I had wanted for this marker, but couldn't find for an autococker. Soooo, this will be made to work.

I just ordered an AKA SST regulator, and Belsales Ram to continue one with.

Loving the Y-frame. This is going be good.

It looks like the macroline is going to be a pain to fit correctly. You could try to see if an experienced airsmith could make you a stainless steel harline. That would look cool.

I hope you aren't still planning to put a drop on it; that would be quite the air line, haha.

Probably should've gone with a Karni or a BM body for the valve size.. you're going to need some pretty high pressures with that orry.

ps - super jealous of the Y frame.

Yeah, not totally sure what I want to do with the actual tank and air line. I'm thinking perhaps just a mini drop forward that tilts the tank down a bit with an on/off. I may compensate a bit by switching to a small HPA tank to keep the size down. A full drop forward would end up looking ridiculous and throwing off the lines. The AKA reg should fit better than the CP I have on there now, since the inlet is on the side rather than the bottom.

Yeah, I've accepted the possibility this setup may not be workable. If that turns out to be the case I'll end up swapping the body. I really like the look of the orracle body though, so hopefully I can get it to a manageable state.

I hope I manage to pull it off

Once the ram arrives I'll be getting ready to slot the frame for the bolt pin, and deciding what to do for a bolt. I have a black magic bolt but I don't think it will be of any use to me, I would have to slot for the pin way farther back than I want. I'll probably get one of the half block kit bolts or make one.

It is pretty close, but I don't think there is enough material there for me to drill a new hole and move the pin forward and I want the slide as far forward as possible.

Well, the body is still out for milling, but the project must go on:

Bronze grips made by pbalien! I'm pretty much going to be doing my color scheme around these grips.

Got the body back from jcurt

Body now has a concealed mid block and a jcurt bolt. Now I'm trying to acquire a CCM front block, as the Karnivore one isn't going to work with what I'm doing anymore. I also need to find a Evo lpr.
