taking recommendations for a reg

My 04 prostock pump's reg (stock reg) is completely messed up.
I am now taking recommendations for a new one. I would like to try to avoid spending 70+ on a reg but anything works I guess.
update: by completely messed up I mean missing a washer.

I used to use GenX 2 regs on my cockers. You can still find used ones pretty cheap on ebay.

i was going to suggest these as well. and they're what, $40?

seems a reg goes for $80 nowadays. that just seems excessive to me. i could have sworn cp regs were $60 new a couple years ago and now there up at the $70+ mark.

Find an used older Macdev gladiator. Great performers and easy to service. They can be had for under $40.

You're totally right. I should have paid more attention to his budget.

That said, the sidewinder doesn't creep, shoot down, or do anything even remotely close to being inconsistent.

I can't say the same for CP, azodin, or even the detonator. I've had issues with all of them, and granted, they weren't maintained properly. Most times they were customer markers. The CP issues I had were with the first gen regs, they may have changed.

It's worth the investment. Or at least it is in my opinion, and any reg is better than a broken reg.

I use sidewinders, 5 of mine were purchased for $50 or less on various sites. They really are a set and forget reg and don't come in a dildo like shape as many others.
