Nascar 2013 Discussion
New Year new season.
The new bodies look good, major improvement.
Qualifying now back to the way it should have always been with the fastest 35 cars plus provisional's like the days of old.

NASCAR went the right direction for once... Although the deck lid fiasco is causing the teams a lot of headaches....but once again its a typical inside job.. on NASCARS part.. There are a lot of new rules pertaining to rear suspension of the car..should change things up a little

Cant ****ING wait until Daytona. Its going to be freaking epic. NASCAR is doing things right for once. Hopefully this trend continues.

I'm ready for the Bud Shootout for 1. to see how this yours car will perform in the draft and 2. to hopefully see the sparks flying and Kyle Busch's temper flaring.

By the looks of it the new car should draft like the 90's cars, back when the bumpers never lined up and if you tried to bump draft you would crash each other. Plus with that super small spoiler they have way less down force to keep the cars stable.

Good. The restrictor plate tracks are usually fun to watch. Last year, I was incredibly bored and would rather just watch the last 15 laps.

I think that had to do more with everyone driving extra cautious the entire time then it did with anything else.

If they would have let them use radiators that could actually cool the engines it would have been a great race.. The "fans" want big packs that cause major wrecks, the two car drafts spread everyone out and were pretty exciting racing but the likely hood of a field clearing wreck was nil. Thus the reason nascar was against them and tried it's best to stop them with the tiny radiators.
which led to cars not being able to push each other at all and which ever team got 2 cars lined up could win without contest...

I love the truck races. Those are always exciting. I think a lot of it has to do with the race being shorter and drivers aren't satisfied with giving up 3rd place at any point during the night.

I don't ever get a good chance to watch the truck races, but have seen bits and peices of them and they always seem to be a good race. However this year should get interesting, like everyone has said glad to see nascar going in the right direction.
What track(s) do you guys go to?

The only track I've been to is Texas Motor Speedway. I haven't been in 4+ years though. I need to make a return.
I would also like to go to Daytona, Bristol, Pocono, and Kentucky.

Pocono is terrible.... the race sucks and the area is even worse...Daytona is ok there is a lot to do away from the track..... Bristol is Bristol and Kentucky has good racing but the area is on par with Pocono...Texas is one of my favorites

I would say Montreal is a great track to go to for the Nationwide race but since its no longer on the schedule.... Ive been to Every track that NASCAR races on multiple times... prob over 80 total counting other smaller tracks...you dont have to go to a cup race to see awesome racing..

Truck races are much more exciting to watch imo. NASCAR has gotten lamer and lamer since Dale passed.

NASCAR is turning into the NFL.
One little fender bender and people are called into the trailer or they get butthurt and do something stupid(Jeff Gordon).

In general I feel you will find much better racing in the feeder series than you will ever find in cup.
midgets, modifieds and late models put on a hell of a show at the short tracks and half miles.
