I just ordered one, but what is loose, the o-ring in the groove or the bolt sliding in and out?

As long as it seals, you shouldn't have a problem.

Perhaps lower friction between the oring and the material the launch bolt is made out of than with an aluminum bolt?

just an idea

Is the launch bolt not aluminum?

Exalt might have made them a few thousandths smaller than stock so they would guarantee a nice fit with minimum friction.

Might be a dumb question but does it work for the geo 1?

It's aluminum, u can put the bolt on the propshaft then turn the propshaft and point it down and the bolt will slide right off

I think that's a good thing. Like someone said before, "Less Friction". Easy bolt movement should help efficiency a bit.

Didn't the GST kit in the Geo+/Geo2 use friction to slow the bolt down? Since there is no LPR to fine tune the bolt, the marker feel actually benefits from a little extra friction. The slower bolt is easier on paint and feels smoother, same idea as lowering the bolt speed on the Geo3. I wonder how the bolt speed of the original Geo and a Geo2 w/ Exalt bolt compares, probably about the same. I guess the new tip might make it softer on paint, but it's not much of an upgrade if it doesn't take advantage of the way the GST works. It is kinda like putting a soft face bolt on the original Geo. Do they feel a little more "snappy' to you guys when shooting? I also bet you could lower your dwell a good bit with this bolt as well.

I'm wondering if Exalt got the original specs for the bolt from Planet Eclipse, but then didn't use type 3 anodizing on the bolt like Eclipse. Type 3 anodizing is thick and adds a few thousandths to whatever is being anodized. If Exalt used the original specs but then used the standard type 2 anodizing, it might also explain why the bolts are so loose on the can/propshaft.

The bolt fits snug in the can still only the propshaft is loose fitting , the bolt def shoots as good if not better than stock , ill play w it this weekend to put it to the test

With the gst the can also only had 1 hole in it inbetween the two outer orings , the original can in the geo 1 had like 5 or 6 , I think that had a lot to do w the slowing of the bolt

I didn't know that, but that probably had a way bigger effect than the friction. I am still wondering about the anodizing on the bolt though. If they used PE specs and type 2 anodizing on the bolt, that could also be a reason why it's so loose.

Just got this bolt in the mail today. Great pick up for $50.00. Feels smoother and shoots more consistent.

Just got mine today. I live in R.I. and the temp outside is about 23 Deg. I just shot 5 pods of some old paint from September and didn't get 1 ball brake.

I did switch up the o-rings between the exalt and stock bolt. The exalt sail o-ring caused to much friction. Once I switched the o-ring, the bolt moved nice and freely.

I didn't have a chrono but it felt like it was shooting around 280's. It feels a bit smoother but not by much. Well worth the $50.00.

I might have to pick one of these up for my Geo... They seem to be very nice and well worth the money.

Well, I chrono'd then threw in the new bolt. First ball, break. Cleaned it then chrono'd. The consistency seemed better, but it wasn't more efficient, wasn't smoother, wasn't quieter. I was pretty much disappointed.

Oh well, I'll still use it.
