Reactor question! Need some thoughts/opinions

Okay ive searched all over but havnt been able to find an answer, I installed the PE low pressure shim kit on my 48/45. Now i know it's LP now but the instructions didnt clarify what the output was, i think i read in a thread i cant find again that its about 500? Which seems more like mid pressure IMO, but im not even sure if thats correct. Getting a G6R soon and trying to determine if i need a slp reg or if my reactor will be fine.

Technically, you don't NEED an LP reg, but you should be fine with your LP kit.

However, if you want to drop the coin on an SLP reg, I've heard that they will very marginally increase your efficiency.

400-500 psi is generally considered LP. Mid is more 650ish.
I'm run a Marq Ripper on 550 without issue so I wouldn't worry about it. It just so happened that's as low as my reg would go and I didn't have leaks or anything. So your reactor will be fine. SLP is not needed unless you want that extra 1-2 pod efficiency boost.

Make a reg tester. Old ASA and toss a 1200 or 1500 psi guage on it then screw in your tank and marvel.

Found out my myth was creeping to 1200psi with one and might surprise you what your tank outputs.

That would be 640 psi on the gauge which is more so mid-pressure. I would question the accuracy of that gauge potentially. It should be lower.

my ? is can you add more to the stack using the old shims to get the pressure lower. the shims are same size put a mic to them to see for yourself my issue is will it throw the tank off aside from the bonnet itself not being able line up right with the set screws

good post. ANY tank regulator gauge can be off by up to 10%. Those gauges aren't the most accurate.

For testing purposes, we used certified gauges, most of which are liquid filled. Thats the only way to get a true and accurate reading. TechT makes a nice digital gauge called the optimus. kinda expensive but does the trick. Great tool for pro shops and fields to test regs.

You can't use more shims. The reg isn't designed to do that. It's meant to swap out one set of shims for another set of shims. Double check the manual again and make sure you have the stack order correct.

you are right about the pressure i have tested that tank tester on other tanks at my field just to see if it was reading right and it is. at this point tabris im out of ideas my g6r was shooting butter for a couple hours and now its all over the place again. the only thing left is a reg break down and if that dosnt fix it my noid is shot

is the reg creeping? When you first twist on the tester does it show a lower reading? My Myth shows 750 then creeps to 1200 because of a bad seat. Found a sliver of metal on the seat and no more creep.

the tester itself is a ninja remote line i just took the line off and married the slide check to the asa part of the remote with a gauge attached to the slide check its not showing any signs of creeping on my 68/30 or my 68/45

FYI, There was change in this kit from Pure Energy and the instructions were never updated. I had some issues at first using this kit until i found this thread awhile back.
