its better than the low top pumas i wear currently, and like i said i need something i can wear all day, not just for a ride. After 2 years i finally got a pair of riding jeans, drayco's, so now i just need the shoe.

tried on a pair of the ap* mx5 at a store by me today.. they fit nice, think id be fine in them for weekend riding. the sidis look like they might offer more protection, i just dont know if im going to find them anywhere local where i can try a pair on. boots are definitely something im going to want to try on before making a purchase after seeing the mx5 run about a size smaller than my normal shoe size. the soles are pretty rigid too so they make some odd pressure points, definitely recomend trying boots on for those of you that are just browsing online.

who has good prices on tire packages? i need to replace front and rear, can i get a deal somewhere buying both?

edit.. motosport.com has packages at decent prices. lmk if anyone has anything better.

There's a place in keller you can get decals cut If you bring them a template, hell they might even be able to do it from scratch. I can't find their website off hand but they're located at

213 North Main Street, Keller, Texas, United States

Bike Bandit has a sale on tires right now. I like the 2ct's for 235$. They also have road 2 and road 3's which are great tires.

Every year I do a three day ride with my girlfriend and we both wear m/c boots. Other than having to take them off and air my feet out once or twice a day they've been great to me for two years. Any time I expect to be riding a longer distance than "around town" or over to a friend or families house, I wear my boots.

You are wasting your money on pures especially to ride around long island. get something with more longevity and some rain grooves.

Tire sale

the pures were so predictable. only had the rear slide once and it was cold out and i didnt really give em a chance to warm up. id really hate to get something and then not feel safe on them. im not too worried about rain grooves.

switching over to the topic of tires, i picked up the cycle hill tire changer from no mar. i got the package with the balancer. ive been reading about tire balancing, static and dynamic. am i only accomplishing one of the 2 with a balancer like this? does dynamic even apply to 2 wheeled machines? im kind of confused.

Just out of curiosity, how well does AP*'s line of street bike footwear hold up?

Their offroad stuff is meh. One and half seasons on mine, and they're destroyed and been held together with super glue for at least 4 months of riding.

if you're big, they are small. A buddy had one, with significant charging system issues for 2+ years. Are they good bikes, yes, are they good for the average commuter or weekend canyon warrior....maybe not so much IMO. Reliabilty!

well what is your "season"? almost 2 years on some MX gear is pretty good lol. For street I wear SMX-plus race boots or TECH3's for supermoto/dirt. an A* leather suit, and A* GP plus gloves on the track and I've crashed in that combo a couple times, all my gear is in plenty good shape to crash even more lol.

The gloves you can't even tell have crashed. the boots have some scratches in the hard plastic areas, and the suit has some scuffs in the forearm/shoulder areas. My tech 3's have lasted for at least 3 years of hard desert riding. 70+ miles/day normally. It's good gear IMO

Varies, got injured and just kinda stopped riding at the end of this season. But, over all I have maybe 12-15 races and 20-25 practices on the boots.

I was just curious. I'm planning on picking up some gaernes real soon for dirt, and might go with a pair for street when the time comes if some are on sale. Everyone says they can't be beat in quality and comfort.

good looking out but i think those would probably end up a little too big for me based on trying on the mx5's
