ZII major problem

I posted this earlier for a close friend of mine.

Ok so my friend was "programming" the board and well now it doesn't stay on. It just shuts off. I laugh at him but hes getting frustrated, so I'm trying to help him out but nothing. I told him not to mess with it that I would do it for him but now when I go to power on the gun, it stays on for literally a second and can't change it. I'm trying to figure out how to set it back to default settings but no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like somehow you fried the board. You didn't unplug the battery plug and replace it backwards did you? Email tech@azodin.com. Ed will figure out what to do next.

I emailed Azodin last night.

Do you know how long it takes to get a response?

Azodin is pretty quick with email responses. It wouldn't hurt to call them. You are generally off of the phone within 10-15 minutes with the new part getting boxed up to go to your door.

Since its the board, they may want you to send the entire marker in, though. However, I'm not entirely sure.

Hello,

We've received your email about the board. We are usually able to respond to emails the same day they are sent. Emails received over the weekend will be answered the following Monday.

Let's see if we are able to do some troubleshooting and I hope you will be answer my questions as this will help me diagnose the issues you are experiencing.

Hello Sokopath,

I do have details on this particular case.

We replaced the board on this marker. The marker was fine mechanically, but we still went through it to make sure everything was alright.

The board's bios may have been corrupted so it wouldn't finish the boot sequence (kind of like a motherboard for a computer). The programming is hard written into the boards memory, so removing the power source will not reset it. In this case a new board would resolve this issue.

Having the marker sent to our office was the right move as we were able to test the board and the various electrical components. In our tests we also replaced a microswitch which seemed to have a loose connection as well.

Sometimes electronics take on a life of their own or don't write things correctly. Thus issues can occur without warning. Regardless of this fact, it is also good to try and troubleshoot the problem as it could be something as simple as low voltage on the battery (this is a common occurrence with boards turning off, solenoids not cycling, or eyes not working).

I hope you found this update helpful.

Sincerely,
Ed
