Shame on the PSP for not having dates already shored up by now. Look what it does to affiliate PSP leagues trying to schedule their events. It trickles down to the smaller fields too. Having to wait for a large entity to get their schedule in order is disrespectful to the players, staff, families, parents, field owners and anybody else that wants to participate in the sport. Ever really wonder why the sport has declined? I think your answer includes PSP and NPPL among other economic issues.

That is what everybody always says, but I never find it to be true. And I have actually gone through the trouble to track them in spreadsheets before events. But you have flown a lot more than I have and maybe it's just a coincidence on the flights I have been on.

It happens... Especially when the bears lose.

Seriously though, I am not angry, I am sure there is a reason they haven't released the dates....

BUT

Saying things like "Plane tickets are cheapest 3 weeks out"

That is just pouring salt in a lot of peoples wounds.

6-8 weeks is 2 months. If your work gives you a hard time about giving TWO MONTHS notice for vacation time, then you seriously need a better job.

A lot of companies set their schedules a year in advance and require their employees to give notice accordingly. I don't know if you've noticed but the economy is also kinda in the ****ter. Having a job with any sort of vacation benefits right now is doing pretty damn good.

I have a pretty big sample size, flying people from different places to different places on a fairly regular basis.

For example, right now, it's $409 minimum from LAX-Chicago for likely Chicago open dates. That will go down later, unless civil war erupts in Iraq or something and blows oil prices through the roof.

As for everything else, all I can add is that I'm sure PSP is 1,500 times more concerned about getting the event dates out than any individual player is. So glad I only have to run one event a year.

Hey, what can I tell you? Things are tough here in Canada too employment-wise (though definitely not as bad as down there). The province I live in was hit hardest by the recession, I had to look hard and long for a good job with benefits. My education and experience allowed me to get it.

Still, even a low-end retail job would allow you to take a weekend vacation with two months notice. I've never heard of companies requiring annual notification for vacation periods, that sounds insane to me.

At my work we have a mass vacation form we fill out in mid January, allowing us to bid for certain days/weeks off throughout the year b/c there are only so many ppl that can be on vacation at once. SO RELEASE THE HOUNDS.... I mean dates!

My wife bids out her vacation at the start of the year as only X number of people on her team can have off at the same time. Of course, the big conflicts are always on the holidays, and paintball events are unlikely to hit those, so it likely wouldn't be a big deal for her to get off for a paintball event, and they can always trade days with people, but yes, lots of advance notice is good for people.

At Age 43 I guess being called bro is a good thing. Lol.

I don't play but my son does. My schedule revolves around his playing. As several have posted before, they need to know months in advance to schedule travel vacation etc. Our small field puts on several events each year to help pay for paint travel etc. So we are in limbo to make plans as well. Son will be playing AVID and Vicious Series and those organizations are waiting to see what the PSP plans are. Yes once PSP releases the dates it will get easier. But last I looked the week was up from their own announcement.

I know when I give a deadline at my place of work it's done or suffer the consequences. Obviously being at the top of the food chain, This doesn't apply to the PSP.

Denver NPPL date does give me another idea and we will make plans accordingly.

Unfortunately WCPPL won't release their dates yet either due to PSP not having their dates ready, which makes it VERY difficult to plan things out considering the first event for WCPPL is supposed to be sometime next month. If they don't at least release the first date soon some teams may not be ready in time.
It'd be nice to know a date sooner than a month in advance
