Exclamation Dry Fire/Shoot In Condo - How to Silence.

I want to test the marker out, but the thing is.. I live in condo. Whats a good way to silent the sound of dry fire? Put some paper towels inside the barrel and the hopper clamp?

Let me know if you got any good ideas.

Why do you need to suppress it? It's not that loud. If you need to dry fire it, put your longest barrel on it and a barrel condom, then stick it into some pillows or walk into a closet and shut the door. Then fire it.

Take a pod, fill it with towels, leaving enough space to insert a barrel.I tape up the open in the pod and then cut a hole in for the barrel to be inserted. There you have silencer. I even take a old barrel sleeve and tape the elastic to the pod so it straps to the gun like a regular barrel sleeve

Nice! What about the hopper? Do you put the hopper on?

An empty loader will silence it a bit. For me, I just put it under a pillow in my apartment. Or put a barrel on, cover it with your hand, and dry fire it quick and just a couple of times. Are you looking to rip your marker in your house?

Hoppers not really required. The silencer does a good job if made right

Only trick is if the bolt is all lubed up, you don't want to be shooting with the barrel on the gun. Excess lube will coat your barrel. Just take the barrel off, fire into a towel and do it during the day so no one can really complain.

when i dry firing, i just......put the condom, put the marker under the pillows, then i put two blankets on top, i close all the doors of my house, and the hopper is on with the lid closed.

just dont want to bother the neigbors... :-)

or.... You could lower your dwell or pressure temporarily so that the bolt cycles but does not complete the firing cycle.

Put a barrel on and stick a squeegie in it. That'll muffle it well enough to not bother any neighbours.

There's also barrels available that are meant for dryfiring.

If you make it even tighter around the barrel it will make it quieter.
