Doc is always busy, so he sometimes tends to run behind on correspondence, but if you keep at it he should get back to you.

If you can do the filling yourself, you can probably have the breech honed at a local machine shop if that would be easier for you.

It's a clean job, I do not know who installed them on this one though.
My first cobalt Dye LCD had jbwelded WSLA ace, still have the TI boomstick sitting in my gearbag somewhere. The marker itself was in florida last time I heard.

One good eye hole, one filled. This was definately a 4c eye setup
The hard one
Not sure what to do about this. Detent threads in fine.

You might be able to put a threaded blank in there, fill the hole, then remove the blank and run a tap through there to clean up the threads. It's in a really bad spot though. What kind of an ******* would do that?

might thought would be either
1. weld and then retap detent
2. thread it and add a threaded rod, then retap the detent
3. get a really large detent

Easy enough fix, save for the one through the detent hole. That one might be tricky. I'll be happy to give it a look, though, Reply sent.
Are you going to run it blind, or do you want it drilled for new eyes? If I may toot my own horn a bit, between one of my DynaBolts and a good force-fed loader, eyes almost become irrelevant.
Doc.

Appreciate you joining the conversation and the reply, i replied back.
I am leaning toward blind at the moment, although since it is drilled for eyes i am not sure. Most people on here seem to think a clean eye job is the best option.
And these dynabolts you speak of, don't seem them in the shop?
My guess is that if you can fill with near 6061 aluminum so the anno would be nearly clean I would go blind.
If the holes would be filled but very noticeable, why not keep it drilled.

Technically, Dynas need to be fitted to the gun- the slot for the bolt pin, under the breech door, needs to be relieved slightly. So that's custom work, rather than off-the-shelf store product.
On the patches, as I said in email, the repair probably won't be 100% invisible. It should be pretty close, the kind of thing you'd have to look carefully for after polishing and reanodizing, but I don't want to give the wrong impression and suggest it'll be a perfect, undetectable fix.
Doc.

The MT eye plates should cover all of the areas where the damage was repaired if you went that route.

Jambolt does what the dynabolt does in a simpler package. No need for a custom fit for starters.

It's unglued, probably a pita to fix, I just hang onto it for the TI now-a-days.
