The constitution guarantees the right to bear arms; not the right to unregulated unabridged unlicensed right to bear arms. This has already been thoroughly discussed.

Seriously, have you even read the constitution? Because you clearly did not know any of this.
Read the 14th you Commie.

You are the one making us reiterate the "right to arms is not unabridged unregulated right to bear arms" argument again and again and again. If anyone is causing us to dance the same song, it's you and blake...

You would not file some kind of lawsuit against me if my minor child did damage to your property or harmed someone in your household? How forgiving of you.

Thank you, beat me to it. I think the insurance solution would help regulate gun ownership with out restricting it...not a bad deal for insurance companies either

Just making sure. People were reacting as if you'd want the owner charged with murder no matter what.

I'd say not reporting it stolen within 72 hours of returning to your home, is negligent. Also if there were a situation like an owner leaves his AR on a workbench in an open garage, is negligent.

And what happens when the insurance companies get leaned on to refuse insurance to owners of certain firearms?

Dunno, haven't thought that far on it. I see what you are saying (i think) The thing is, at one point there will have to be a point where it does not matter if you can afford the insurance on a howitzer, you simply just can't own a howitzer. I'll continue my thought later... I have to piss.

So if I leave my car unlocked at the mall and someone steals it, I should be charged too?

Yes, in some circumstances you can be held liable in that circumstance. Marcozombie espoused something very close to negligent entrustment. That is why I rolled the insurance aspect into homeowners'/renters' insurance.

Dare I suggest federal gun insurance exchanges? You can't deny a constitutional right just because someone can't afford it.

Unless it was foreseeable that leaving the car unlocked would lead to harm, there would be no charges.

Yer more than welcome to, but I wasn't suggesting that at all. Let private companies choose if they want to insure you and at what rate.

At this very moment, I can't afford a to purchase a hand gun, I just don't have the disposable income for it. Are you suggesting that my right to purchase one is being infringed upon by not having enough money for a gun?

Twas a joke about why wouldn't insurance companies insure guns but they insure jackasses with quarter million dollar or more cars.
