Upcoming bill to ban assault weapons - details

the above link is the detail of the bill they are going to attempt to pass on assault rifles. If you read close - they are attempting to ban certain types of handguns too. I think that inclusion of handguns is going to be what keeps the bill from being passed - in my opinion

Doesn't Feinstein push this **** every year? If the Obama administration is in fact going to make a genuine push for more control, I doubt this will be it.

She hasn't been actively pushing anything for at least a year now. What she has been doing is meeting with the ATF a lot over that time to write this thing. It's all part of a big plan she has been scheming up.

I know, however its a stepping stone. With today's GOP theres no way we can get strong gun regulation in one swing. This is a long term goal.

Right... but what about all the other violent crime that is far more common? Shouldn't we address the fundamental causes of the violent behavior as apposed to attempting to eliminate the means by which violent acts are committed?
