What to wear when playing in a major tournament?

Hey Nation i have been out of the sport for about 3 years. I am getting back into it now and want to play in some tournaments. i would like to know the things i should wear when playing in a tournament. i know the PSP rules have gone crazy about padding and and sizes and all that. Back when i played it was the more baggy the better but now there is a rule that says it cant be to baggy, and your padding cant be to much. So with so much padding on the new jerseys and pants is it worth buying arm pads and knee pad or just letting the ones on the clothing do the job for you? please help a brother out so i don't show up and the reg is like "take all this crap off!!" thanks for your help guys look forward to hearing what you have to say.

You can wear slider shorts, knee/shin and elbow/arm pads, those are for protection purposes. As far as bounce pads or chest protectors, you can wear them as long as your jersey has no padding on it.
However, you can wear a T-shirt under a padded jersey as a t shirt does not qualify as padding.

If your jersey is not padded, you can wear either a t-shirt or bounce pad/chest protector, but not both. Most tournaments limit layers to 2 or less. Hope this helps

Your best bet would be to check out the 2013 PSP Rulebook for more information. There you will find everything that you need to know about clothing, padding and protective gear.

Generally speaking, you can wear a complete set of padding underneath your pants and your jersey, meaning something like the following:
- Dye Precision Performance Top
- Dye Precision Elbow Pads
- Dye Precision Knee Pads
- Dye Precision Slider Shorts

Then you're allowed to wear a jersey that meets their padding specifications (see the rulebook), and for pants, you're allowed to wear just about anything, so long as they fit. A little baggy is fine, but if it's excessive they'll say something about it (again, see the rulebook).

I hope this helps!

bounce pads/chest protectors are ILLEGAL in the PSP and most every tourny ive played in

you car wear arm, elbow, knee, shin pads under your jersey/pants. neck protector as well. as far as baggy, dont wear a 3xl jersey when you should be wearing a medium. just be reasonable. maybe one jersey size up so your can fluff over your pack and whatnot.

Thanks for the help guys. I had read through the rules and that's what threw me off. It was talking about not being more then one inch over a pad or so crazy stuff like that. Then I see damage come out with all pads under and UL jersey and pants with no pad on them so just thrown off.

Either the jersey or the undershirt may be padded

No part of a player may be covered by more than two layers of clothing

Padding in jerseys is not limited to specific areas; provided that the thickness does not exceed 5
mm (0.197”) Padding material is limited to an open cell foam and must not be modified from the
manufacturer's original form.

straight from the rulebook
