2013 EPL divisons??
I've heard some talk of instead of having a d5/d4 division, they were going to change it to d4/d3 and run d5 with d6. Anyone else hear anything about this? A lot of teams bumped in rank and they were doing it to keep the divisions full I heard.

It would suck if you had a d5 5 man team amd had to play d3 teams. I dnt know how many teams would stay together getting beat down at events. Why not just keep tje d5/d4 and have a open division for every one else.

the reason epl would do something like this is for teams not to fall apart. teams that put the work in and win often may have some players get bumped up to d3 in the appa. with that happening they wouldnt be able to play d5/d4 events having teams lose players who cant afford to play in the psp or good enough to play nationally yet so making it d4/d3 would be a good idea...making an open division for just the d3 players is unfair if u look at it, ull have d1 players/teams enter due to the low cost to play regionally and beat down on players who arent ready yet resulting in them quitting

I hear what your saying and that's why I think it might happen BUT look at it from the other end. Take a d5 team who played in d5/d4 last year. They played at the bottom of division for a year. Now they make it d4/d3. That team who is now d4 should be at top of old division (d5/d4) but now will STILL be at the bottom (d4/d3). I guess it all comes down to if the need is there to switch division brackets.

From the low end of it. Will d6 teams stick around getting beat by d5 every time? Works same way for top and bottom.

They tried it 2 years ago and they only had succes at the first event with gettin like 10 d3 teams to enter....mostly cuz I feel its due to prizes, the reason mapl gets the teams is cuz 1st place in d2/d3 are 5 luxes. The prize packages are there to attract those teams and the d2/d3 mapl has the PSP pro reffs come in so players are attracted to that knowing they have one of the highest trained reffs on the field

EPL would be great if they did step up with the prizes. Those medals compared to MAPL's.. There's no comparison at all. & please have better refs, when you take care of that, teams and players will come. But anyways back on topic. D4/d5 division & d2/d3 please

I agree with the two separate divisions. Because when people come in if they get slaughtered by d3 teams and they are a d5 team what is going to make them want to come back just to basically hand over money to get crushed. If anything make the d2/3 prizes better then d4/5 so teams that want a chance to win good prizes will play to the higher division and team who are starting and just getting their feet under them have less valuable prizes like axes. I always hear the top teams saying they dnt want to rank up because there is no one else to play well if you beat down on the little teams that are new you will never have anyone to play against. Look at the Cfoa I know people who are on a team that rotates who plays what events just to keep their ranks as low as possible because there is almost no d3 teams here in the Carolina's. if we want a future in the EPL we need to take care of the new teams

Bad calls are a part of tournament paintball....PSP, NPPL, EPL or GPL.... get over it.....
If you are not placing on a consistent basis in D4 after 2 years chances are your team is not going to do any better when you get bumped to D3 anyways. You want to win a tournament? Organize your team to drill in the offseason, practice the layouts as early and often before events and play together as a unit. Does not matter what divisional competition you are up against. The EPL should organize their league in what ever way gets more teams involved in playing paintball. If you are intimidated to play a team that is ranked higher than you.... get out now. Your only going to rise to the competition that you are put up against. I would rather play at the highest level possible competitively. Don't get me wrong I am not suggesting a Beginner D6 team be put up against a D2 team. What I am saying is that if my team is playing a D4 team (lower than our ranking) or a D2 team (higher than our ranking) we are coming for you....
Please understand this is not directed at any one person on this thread... just my 2 cents

I just wanna play, I don't care what division I'm in, how many times I take an L, or who's on the other side of the field. Just give me some paint and someone to shoot at and I'm good. If there was no division rankings and it was all open play, I would be just as happy.

As a D6 player (only played 1 tournament) i wouldn't be particularly happy having to play D5 teams on a regular basis. But id definitely would. Like viper said, you only can get better from playing better teams. I like i how it is with d2/d3, d4/d5, and d6 separate ... but whatever happens happens ill play either way

D6 is pointless to play because sandbaging is more common in that division just my opinion

theres a team that played the SEEDS series in Ohio last year. they had been playing together as a team for over 3 or 4 yrs at another local field. they held their own tournys there, but never used the APPA ranking system. So that team came into the tourny as "D6" but were really a D3 or D2 team....so point proven.
