Does the vintage Crossman 3357 take modern 50 cal rounds? Any problems with the setup?

Yeah it'll take "Flying Colors" paintballs,they are a little fussy,mags dont always index if the pawls are worn,hard to adjust velocity,more of a collectors item than a playable gun for modern paintball,they look fkn awesome thou

Agreed with Punisher068, the Splatmatic Flying Colors paintballs are better for the 3357, it is a bit hard on paint, though my rebuilt/restored ones I sell work better on brittler paint.

I've tried all kinds of different .50 caliber paint in 3357s, (Formula 13, GI Milsim, Kingman Slate, etc), and they all seem to break easily in the 3357. The trade off with the harder Flying Colors, which may not break in the gun, is that it is harder to get it to break on target. You might have to hit an actual hard target, such as mask lense, pack, hopper, gun, belt buckle, etc).

I always include 100 rounds of Splatmatic Flying Color paintballs with the 3357s I rebuild and sell, in fact I have two for sale right now:

And it is pretty awesome when I get an elimination with the my two 3357s (after the game, the eliminated player often has to ask me just what the heck I shot them with):

In the FS thread, the other barrel is a .177 caliber pellet barrel (and cylinder), so the gun can be converted to a pellet gun, and shoot .177 Caliber (4.5mm) lead pellets.

Actually, the back end of both the 3357 Paintball Revolver and 357 Pellet Revolver are indentical, the 3357 Paintball Revolver just has a large bore barrel assembly and much deeper cylinder installed for .50 Caliber Paintballs.

Here is a German add, which shows 3 different versions of the 357 Pellet and the 3357 Paintball at the top:



...and no rollout problems with the 3357, the ball detent ring in the center of the cylinder holds the paintballs in each hole.
