What do people think of the spire
I have to start using a spire at my field. I love my rotor, what do other people think of it.

Man I wish there was a section for people to put all their reviews in, making them easy to find and read through.

Ya I am really hesitant selling my rotor for a spire. The owner says they r really good but he may just be paid to say It since they sponsor his pro team

my spire has replaced my rotor as my primary. its lighter and faster to take apart then the rotor. if you have to shoot crappy paint in the summer that would normally jam a rotor the spire wont. easy change lids. down side is sometimes you have to adjust the settings so your spire drive doesnt keep pulsing when not shooting. i leave mine on the lowest tension setting no problems yet. down side im trying to think would be maybe if your not smart enough to read and mess with settings you could make your loader act really funny

I've heard it can be a blender if you're too stupid to set it up properly with the tension adjustment but that's true with any loader.
$200 for a loader is absolutely ridiculous though, I wouldn't ever drop that much on a hopper.

Ya I know, I got my rotor when the 2nd gen came out and payed $134.99. They have not changed a bit expect for colors. When I was at the Chicago open I picked up parts and boards from the virtue Nd dye shack for next to nothing. With the virtue upgrades the loader is absolutely amazing.
But at my home field they are requiring gi sports tanks ( witch I already bought) and spires. So I am going to have to get one regardless. I wish I could keep my rotor but when you play on a budget and have to pay for the stuff on my own, you can't really keep things to keep them.

This is complete BS. The paddles on the Spire are WAY too soft to be a blender. I've had zero issues with chilled (not frozen) GI 4 star when I've used it, and that's freakin brittle paint, and with tension turned all the way up (I did it so the loader wouldn't be stop and go and would just go as soon as I needed it) I had zero issues.

I have all three
Spire,rotor and z2
Rank them
1.rotor
2.spire
3.z2
The spire is good and never jam up. Have read other rotors jamming, but i clean the gears and grease them up.
Z2 is ok but seems to flimsy

Most of the current edition hoppers sit near $200. I know rotors in older colors are $150. I do agree though seems a bit much for a loader, but I normally buy used everything anyway.
As for Spire blending NO WAY if tension is wrong it might popcorn (push the balls up and out of the ball stack). But never blend

How is it that they are requiring you to use the gear they say? Do you play for their team? If not, then I'd say find another field.

No I am not on any of their teams. But I will be soon. You get free entry(25) and 10 off every case if you have the gear.

Interesting way to run a field and increase sales potentially. IMO you cant go wrong with the spire... I plan on buying one soon and my rotor is upgraded to the max. The spire(stock) basically does all the things my rotor does after being upgraded...the only thing the spire is missing currently is a high capacity top shell.
The spire will be great, and it can feed reballs.

The biggest complaint I've heard from people at my field with the spire is the actual spire drive cone. Since it sits up higher when they reload they have to shake their hopper/marker so that the balls will move forward and let the rest fall out of their pods.
Most of those people do have the speed feeds on them so I'm not sure if the issue is as prevalent with just using the flip lid. Other then that I've heard very good things about it.

my spire took a dump today
only used it 4 times
thought it was the batteries...pulled them out...the middle one was super hot......put brand new ones in....then the motor barely turned...like it's all gummed up.....never broke paint ever in the hopper...always clean my stuff after practice
pretty confused

A little off subject but a field requires a certain tank and loader? Or do you mean your team sponsorship does? If it is the field that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of. Field paint only fine, but dictating what equipment the players use, why? Is there are reason for this? FPO..... I get it. More money for the field, but unless they require you buy your equipment from them, too how does this make sense?

I see now. I missed this the first run through. ^. Still seems alittle weird to require gear even for discounts. Do they require they buy it from them?

The spire is high and can get in the way but the second Gen virtue SF works well. I have had no issues since I switched. With just the lid ie no speed feed never had an issues reloading at all
