Dye Proto Reflex 2013

Is it good, or bad? In what ways if so, and if it was a good choice for me.

The 2012 is the same gun with different colors but is cheaper. You should check out the MacDev Drone DX and Empire Axe if you are set on buying new. If you buy used you could get some amazing older guns for the same price.

The reflex line has been really solid in the past two releases even though they are very much the same. Reflexs are smooth shooting, effective markers that are great for any kind of paintball play IMO.

Not very efficient though by all I have heard.

It's not terribly inefficient, but compared to an etek it is less efficient of course.

Yes but also as far as mid levels go, it seems as though they are among the worst. I dont have any actual numbers but I see the rails frequently out of air in games at my field, rentals first, then rails but that could all tie into the tanks, shot count etc. Basically I am rambling here and will stop, Happy Holidays everyone

I've got the 2013 proto reflex rail in PGA neon. It's an awesome looking marker! I think you made a good choice purchasing this marker. Yes, it's not as efficient as an etek, but that is traded with how quit this marker is and how there is pretty much no kick, Also it's less efficient because its a spoolie not a poppet. Good choice!

Lol thanks for the comment MV, I almost started to rage at how I ordered the marker. But after all, I think I don't need Etek level efficiency because I mostly play at fields with free air. Also, I really like all the DM stuff Dye put on the PRR. I was thinking of getting the Etek, but I really don't like the LT material, and the AM is just too expensive.

A really subjective question that is most helpful before you buy the marker. The Reflex works for what it is intended to do and is a fair value for the price.

I am also looking into purchasing this same marker in early Feb- besides the efficiency issue (which imo is a non-issue because air is almost always one time pay) I heard the eye pipe gets jacked quick on the net, can anyone attest to this? also I wonder about markers taking a shot in the eye casing, no one likes a shot in the eye! Do they hold up well? I have been playing since 99, and almost ALL major marker problems in electros involve the eyes. Anyway, thanks for the info posted so far. Color choice? make mine a red liquid please!

To add on this, I'd get a dm9 or a old bob long. If I had to buy new I'd get the macdev drone without a doubt! It's fast, smooth, and the ergonomics are great!

I have a 2011 Reflex, had it for awhile and I have had to replace a few things but I am really satisfied. Not sure how different the 2011 and 13 are, I remember 2011 and 12 were very similar and apparently 13 is like the 12. I would recommend a Reflex rail to anyone interested.

I've heard nothing but good things about the reflex. Smooth shot (not as smooth as a DM, but then again a reflex doesn't have an lpr) and the ergonomics are on par with the NT.

The Reflex is a great marker; a bit more needy than others, but great performance all round. It is a very balanced marker and has great value for the price especially if you buy an older model.
