Stainless or Titan? Titanium Longbow

I tryed the search without success, so here´s my question..

Are my Backs TI or V2A (or V4A?)

I put them on the kitchen scales and here are the results:

.684 - 94gr.
.687 - 93gr.
.690 - 93gr.

Thanks

Brandon

Could be aluminum. Stainless has a definite heavy feel to it. If you hold alum and stainless freak backs, you get the idea.

I would guess titanium based on weight. titanium is about twice as heavy as aluminum (4.54 g/cm^3 vs. 2.7g/cm^3). 100g sounds about right for a titanium back.

Depending on the grade some stainless is magnetic. It depends mostly on the nickel content (the higher nickel the less magnetic). Austenitic (300 series like 304 and 316) won't stick to a magnet. Martensitic (400 series like 440) is generally magnetic.

i got my information from the one like SUPER in depth barrel testing threat.. but if i remember correctly, 93 grams is the correct weight for the titanium backs

as a matter of fact, that looks like the same kit i sold recently.. did it have a 12" black front and a 14" pewter front? those ARE titanium

post in question
http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.p...1#post36361051

weights of different backs
59.4 ----- 0.681AL -----
58.7 ----- 0.684AL -----
57.6 ----- 0.687AL -----
57.4 ----- 0.690AL -----
93.5 ----- 0.684Ti -----
92.8 ----- 0.687Ti -----
91.3 ----- 0.690Ti -----

so as you can see because your backs are in the 90's, and not the mid 50's, they are indeed titanium
