impact Knee pads

For those with messed up knees from biking and dirtbiking as a kid, what solution do you guys have? Im 22 and my knees are jacked up lol. Pb knee pads just aren't enough, and i have used the dye precision and planet eclipse ones. I read about people using volleyball knee pads, but they dont seem to cover the sides as much. I was thinking of mountain biking pads, but the only decent ones meant for impact seem to be the hard shell, so i dont know how well they would do. Any imput would be greatly appreciated.

There are some wrestling knee pads that will give decent mobility while supporting and stabilizing your knee (Asics, Cliff Keen). They will generally be neoprene with gel protection on the knee. There is a LAX knee brace that has built in stays for extra support (Shock Doctor).

Take care of your body, it will only get worse as you get older, especially the major joints.

bought some Dainese Trail Skins. By the reviews and pictures they seem to offer better protection than pb knee pads. Hopefully they get here before the weekend

unsure what you're looking for. knee protection or knee support due to injury?

fwiw, i just use my fox downhill knee/shin pads. hard shell and good cushion. open back means good ventilation but more shifty than the sleeve type. cheap to boot. i think they were like 20 at my local bike shop

knee protection. I was a bit iffy about hard shells, since i did try my thor dirtbiking knee/shin pads. They slid around too much and were too bulky for some movements.
