Actually the SMP was marketed as a marker specific reg. It was marketed for the Luxe and Ego markers but it's no longer made. It does have a wide range of use though on other markers. It's just the optimal pressures for the luxe and ego happens to be around 550 psi.
The SHP is also marker specific with them being Tippmanns and Automags with RT triggers. Using that reg on anything else can cause serious issues because of the pressure it outputs.
Not entirely true.
The SLP will work on most markers out there but some it will not as the marker will starve for air. Geos are very hit or miss with them and NTs have had mixed results as well. Tippmanns are right out as are spyders and generally any other blowback.
The SHP is only meant for tippmanns and RT automags. Why? Because it comes preset to 1100 psi output and will only go down as low as 900 psi for tippmanns. Putting that to anything else is going to have major consequences on your regulator seals being stressed and potentially valves seals if the reg should spike or fail. The vast majority of markers out there these days aren't meant for working with such high pressures. Most regulators actually don't recommend an input higher the 800-900 psi.
It's always best to follow what the manufacturer of your marker recommends for an input pressure if it has one. The 'Super' ninja regs are tailored to be marker specific though. As is the Guerrilla ELOP which is marketed for the G6r as well under the 'Extreme Low Operating Pressure' monicker.
