i want to play again. it's just the time and financial commitment that i can't afford. once it starts getting warm again i'll probably go to an open play or two. it just sucks that i'll be going by myself because none of my friends play anymore....

it feels real good going out with 20rds and a 12 gram and just kill it all day.

Don't play on a team. While I loved playing xball, I love being able to play and have fun win or lose. That being said, thinking about playing 10-man at World Cup haha.

I tried pump, wasn't a massive fan but the pump scene just isn't big here.

yea, i know, but i like challenging myself. i haven't truly pushed myself while playing in years. i'd rather actually get shot while playing d1 players than just screw around with d2/3/4 players

I went through every hand/arm position I could think of and after going through all of them, that was the best. I think because anything else was uncomfortable for her.

Granted, I'm just breaking into this kind of work and still exploring a lot, but here's what I put together for myself.

For starters, many positions that look right don't feel comfortable for the model at all. It takes a lot of getting used to for them, and is why so many new models look so uncomfortable. That's all part of learning their side of the work. What I do, is every time I see a portrait or pose I like, I screencap it and put it in a folder. Every so often I take it all and sync it into a photostream that I can call up on my iPhone or iPad. That way, I can go through it with a client/model and find the looks we both like, and assist them in getting contorted into those poses. In some cases, the pose just isn't compatible with a subject's physique and you have to move on to something else, just stay within the general rules of posing women and void the distinct no-no's and you'll be fine.

It helps too when you're not working with your wife. For some reason, there's women out there that take an issue with you having a readily available collection of photos of other women in various clothing (or lack thereof) and poses. Or, they'll object to you putting them in the same poses.

*EDIT* Almost forgot, don't ever have a model actually lean their face on their hands or whatever, just have them act like it. That way, you get the look of them doing it without the contorted skin/face look of actually resting their weight on their hands.

Nah, I actually have to return it to it's owner here pretty quick. Film and development/scanning gets expensive.

I process in my kitchen, a good neg scanner is aprox. $600 though. When places charge a dollar per MF frame scan it's pretty much necessary to own one. The v500 and v600's from epson are ok but you're not getting the quality to justify shooting film in the first place. I've never had any experience with the plustek but I've heard some good things.
