Trash or Treasure?

I started to take apart an old 2K Dark angel I bought a couple years ago. When I removed the snatch grip I noticed that someone took a dremel to it to put their initials in it. Then I noticed the initials were DYB, and I started to wonder if this could have been one of Dave Youngbloods guns. Since it was decked head to toe in everything from the DYE catalog I got my hopes up a little more. Then reality sets in and I remember (or at least think I do) that Youngblood is not his real last name so that is not likely the initials he would have used. So I have three questions for anyone who might know:

1.) Did Dave Youngblood ever owned a 2K black dark angel?
2.) Was he in the habit of engraving his initials on the gun?
3.) If the answer to two is yes, what initials did he use?

Here are some pics

Wouldn't his initials be DY?

Actually, his initials would be DD. And at that time, were he shooting an electronic gun, he'd have been shooting a DYE LCD, not a Dark.

That's pretty much what I figured, that this was just yet another abused Dark LCD. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't something special. I'll add it to my pile or sell it.

Didn't the DYE LCD come out in 2K1?

Somewhere in there. Thing is, Dave was always a Cocker guy. And, little tidbit of trivia, he's never played on what he still calls a "concept" field. Hyperball, airball, none of it.

Interesting, you would have thought the DAM would of been produced earlier. I bet it's been on the drawing board for years but lacked the proper round (first strike) to make it come together. I would be interested in seeing what other types of paintballs DYE came up with when designing the DAM as I assume they were trying to come up with more woodsball and scenario specific rounds themselves.

That Dye feedneck looks different from others. It has a bow shape to it. Interesting.

I think I remember that style of Dye feedneck from back in the day.

I don't think that gun is black either. Looks pewter to me, the photo's just a little dark from the flash.

The first dye feednecks looked like cheesey *** tea cups. I have a few of those things in a box somewhere.

The gun is all Black.

I used one of these feed necks on my 2K1 C&C back in 02, they worked pretty good with a Revy if you used the DYE ring thing that you had to shove in the neck of the revy. They did not work so well on Eggs or Halos.
