2013 Demon: Heres the lowdown on it!
Just got my 2013'd demon back, heres what went down.
When I got it back, it had a small leak in it, that I'm guessing it was from overlubing, b/c once I cleaned the bolt off, and regreased it, it was fine.
I got my 2013 Demon out to shoot some paint through it, and heres how it did. First 5 shots over the chrono with some fresh Formula. 286 291 287 290 292. Doesnt get much better than that.
On 12.5 ramp, it shot a nice tight group at around 50 feet. Accuracy/consistency is definitely great on this gun. I was shocked at how well it held its grouping with some decent paint. I'd love to see it with some Evil.
I then switched to some old, dimpled FPO Heat that I had laying around. I expected it to be all over the place, but to my surprise, it stayed relatively tight. Not as good as the formula, but good enough. I put the same paint through my Ego and my Geo2, both using the same barrel as the Demon. The ego was having flyers left and right, and the geo fared better than the ego, but not as good as the Demon.
As for gas mileage. I got 2 pods and a hopper from about 1000 psi on my 68/4500. Definitely not a gas hog.
I was really impressed with how well it shot. Great groupings, no shootdown, no breaks, and it handled the bad paint pretty well. If you are on the fence as to whether or not its worth it to do the upgrade, I hope this helps you decide.

Great to hear these threads. It's really nice to get compliments when deserved.

I wanted to ask since I recently traded for a 2012 stock Demon. I noticed that while shooting with just empire heat practice paint and the stock barrel that the ball will fly straight and then just at the end it lobs off (if that makes sense.) My question is does the 2013 internal upgrade make the shots from the gun fly more straight with a less noticable lob? If you could test this theory out Scott and let us know, I know that I would appreciate it.

The gun and barrel is not gonna have an effect on a ball at a distance. It's most likely wind causing that.

all paintball guns will make the ball lob down.
It's physics.

Gravity has to work at some point.

It's more likely the different vantage point behind the barrel(you did say you traded for it) that's making you think the balls are lobbing. Forget about for a while and the effect will disappear once you're used to it.
