You can just walk around as long as you own or are an employee registered with a store or field. If this is all you do, then you won't be getting all that you can out of attending Paintball Extravaganza. If that is what you plan on doing (just walking around and buying things) you honestly are wasting your time coming.
If you walk around and look at the new products, talk to new suppliers, meet the salespeople that you deal with on the phone, negotiate product deals, take some tech classes, get some business training and meet some your industry peers - then you are getting what you should out of Paintball Extravaganza!
Many of the exhibitors just bring display products as this isn't a retail event. The exhibitors are there to show their new and old products and take orders for inventory at a store or field and meet with new and old customers.

Open to Public?
Many reasons why you won't see this event to public.
There are many vender shows open to the public throughout the year at tournaments and scenario games.
Many of the exhibitor services have little to do directly with the public - ie: insurance, computer services.
Many of the exhibitors/manufacturers do not deal directly with the public.
Exhibitors don't inventory booths for retail sales to the public.
The wholesale / business nature of this event is what sets it apart from the many vender shows.
And after 3 days of working the event most exhibitors are ready to leave!
