dye sticky 3 grips and integrated rail problem

So I have a pair of dye sticky 3's (the new kind with the rubber on the back) and want to put them on my nxt. But I also have an asa I'd like to mount on the integrated rail without adding a second one. But now I can't the grips on without taking the asa off first, but I can't access the set screws inside the grip frame with the stickies on it. Does anybody have a solution? I saw an nxt in a bst thread a while ago with uncut stickies and an asa on the rail, so there must be a way to do it.

can you take all the screws off the grip and slide/flex them up or out of the way just enough to be able to slip an allen in the frame?

also you might be able to take the frame off and get a really long allen wrench to fit in from the top of the frame.

You'd have to cut the back of the grips or use a rail. You can't go in from the top because the battery will be in the way. Sucks, I know.

Unless that guy had some special secret way..

The one in the bst? Magic probably

Or maybe how you said, flexing them with no screws. But probably magic

Haha thanks guys. I tried shoving them up to get room to reach the screws, but it takes forever to turn because there's only a few degrees of turning room. I'll just do that until I rage and take a knife to the grips lol

Yeah, it is a major pain. But I like the feeling so much I just deal with it. I decided to get a separate rail, btw.

i used a rail on my RL bc it's sturdier...but i wish i could figure out the set screw bull**** lol im too lazy to sit there and turn an allen key 2 degrees all day. probably should have the long allen key tools with handles and do it from the top down...is that how everyone does it?

bob long gear drive would probably work really well, since you dont need to use a rail of any sorts or need access to the inside of the frame to take it off...
