Questions about the Etek 3 Lt

I've been playing nothing but woodsball/scenario/recball and about to get into speedball. I'm about to get a Etek 3 Lt stormtrooper and had some questions. How is it for tournaments? I know it needs some backs. What do you recommend? Are there any other upgrades that would make a difference in performance? What would be a decent loader? Anything else you can think of would be great.

Etek 3 is a great gun out of the box. I used mine in several tournaments. Set it to whatever settings the tournaments allow and go play. No upgrades are necessary; however, a trigger and a barrel can help (i like the freak). I use a dye rotor loader but just about any force feed loader on the market will feed 12.5 bps which is what most tournaments allow. If you can buy used from a reputable seller on here and save some money.

Edit*
I had a guy on here freak bore my stock barrel and am very happy with it. It accepts freak inserts only costs $35 and keeps the stock look so everything matches. Look under the paintball services section. I think his name is Nerve2030.

Thanks. I've read some reviews about it but, I didn't know how it would do in a tournament. The guy I'm getting it from said he had a freak kit, a z2, and some rotors. I heard that some people like the trigger and some don't so I'm going to wait until I see for myself. Thanks again.

If you are looking to play tournament speedball on a budget, the ETEK is ideal. It shoots fast and straight and it is super reliable. I have shot more than 10 cases through mine with out a single chop. I honestly love this gun I recommend it to all of my friends.
