I had an extra Bolt Guide so I decided to do this.

I think I'm in the ballpark so far. Got to pick up the set screws tomorrow to finish this up. Should be ready to shoot Sunday.

Very cut and dry. Chucking the bolt was the only complicated thing. I still need to get the set screws and put it in today.

It's done. Since I'm not smart enough to tell the difference I'm posting it in the bst. I'm under the impression this may compromise efficiency so I won't be using it. Just did it to cause I had the spare guide and some spare time to tinker.

I wonder...Has anyone tried relocating the vent point for the rearward travel of the bolt? I mean if you figured out a way to adjust the restriction of the air coming out the bolt guide.

Part of this idea came to be, because I always thought the slight puff of air in my face when shooting the gun was annoying... Same thing with my luxe, irritates me how I get a small gust of air on my hands when I shoot the gun.

I would like to hear some more feedback on this. I am wondering how low of pressure you could actually effectively operate the shocker at? I also wonder how much it would affect efficiency?

Wow. Just saw this. I am having Pooty check into getting NDZ to produce some more of their LP bolt guides. If that falls through, it's nice to know that there is an alternative solution.

Good job Ccluff.

I'm also interested in seeing how this works with an EB.

You should see a quieter smoother shot but a little less efficient.

After watching this video, I would think it would make your shocker more efficient.

hey jim so say if i were to wrap electrical tape on the thin part of the bolt guide and on the inside of the firing can would this make it more efficient? less consistant?

Im running my Low Pressure bolt guide from Pooty with my Eigen. Im getting a pod of paint per 400 psi. This was my average before the bolt guide o-ring let go. Ill get some more numbers this weekend.

Wow. It looks like Pooty pulled the video off YouTube. I was watching this morning, so he just pulled it off. It was a video demonstrating the NDZ LP bolt guide. He was shooting in the upper 260s to mid 270s with the LP bolt guide installed in a Naughty Dogs NXT. He then swapped it out on the spot with a standard bolt guide and lost ~20-25 FPS.

That's McFreakin' amazing. That's getting into Ego efficiency right there. Even if Pooty can't get NDZ to make any more LP bolt guides, this mod could probably produce similar results.

Yeah thats what it should do. Increase volume deacrease preassure. But it should slightly decrease efficiency because your using a much larger volume of air per shot. The efficiency loss is probably so minimal you wouldnt notice much but really only testing will yell. I have an LP guide I moded (not the same way ccluff did here) that Ill eventualy run some tests with but it wont be anytime soon I have to many of other peoples guns here to work on and not enough time for my own.

No. If I remember correctly, jim just drilled out the space from the front of the guide, while ccluff drilled from the back. So pretty much the same volume for both.

Ccluffs version has more volume for sure. Could you do both types together? I don't see why not I would just leave a little meat at the bottom where he drilled down at the angles to maintain the strength between the orings.
