So for an event at a replica historical event, I would need to show an EASY 2 to 3 step process to clean up paintballs.

I came up with the following 3 step quick clean process
1) shop vac all shells and parts of shells
2) trigger spray with cleaning product
3) wipe with towel


Is there a better way?

I'm looking for indoor and outdoor ways to remove all marks from an event.

You may need a product to remove the titanium dioxide, which is the white residue you see on bunkers. Look for a product called Bunker Scrub.

The most trouble you will have is with any porous surfaces that will absorb the paint.

Years ago I held a large tournament in a very nice convention center. They had stone and concrete walls in the largest room. I took samples of all the paint types I considered using and broke them on the wall in a hidden area and waited for them to dry. The difference in cleanup from different manufacturers and even different brands of the same manufacturer was huge. Some types came out of the wall with just a squirt of degreaser and wiped right off. Others never came out of the wall but faded over time... years of time.

What you want to do is test the actual materials that the paint will be getting on and try different types of paint and multiple cleaning methods to find the combination that works best.

And something I think you NEED to keep in mind is to NEVER USE NELSON if you're worried about staining.

Pressure washer might be to much. Elbow grease should remove the excess while the shop vac picks up a shell.

yes they do decompse but i think it takes a long time and they swell up and if someone steps on them they will get upset

Yes, they will decompose over time. You can speed things up a bit by using a heavy landscaping roller to break the paint, then water the area with sprinklers. It will take a few weeks for the paint to fully decompose.
