I know you wanted the Bullpup look, but personally, I absolutely love what these guys have done with the TPX.

Good to know a JJ barrel will work. I ordered a 16 inch commando J&J. Although that photo makes me think my scale is off again. We'll see, it all arrives on Monday. Though I work for a straight week so I don't know when I'll have time to work on it.

That TPX stock setup looks awesome. Very SMG looking, I might have to try something like that.

Thanks for the interest and encouragement. Have a great New Years!

Thanks for the offer Bra, but no thanks. Sent you a PM about parts though.
Also, I got my TPX and J&J barrel today, but my other parts have been delayed through a mix up with the postal system, my fault really. But it looks like I will have some time off next week to really begin once those parts arrive.

As it is, I've figured a few things out just from holding the pistol, and think that while I wait, I've figured out how to mount the trigger frame rail, and the hook for the top assembly. And I think I can do it so that the TPX could still function as a pistol if the bullpup parts were removed.

Oh, and if anyone was wondering, no, the threads on the J&J commando cannot accept other manufacturers, It's a very special thread setup. I'll try and post pics of it later.

Finally! Some more parts arrrive! Not all, still need the trigger frame to arrive. But now I can really start something!
So the first thing was to open up the front of the sl9 foregrip:
Before:After:

And to open up the front of the g36 rail to allow it to sit cleanly on the upside down sl9 front:

And it sitting on top of the sl9 front:

And some mockups with the stock. I won't cut the stock up until I get the trigger frame attached and working, but I do have to figure out an idea of how I'm going to attach it at some point.
Mockup 1:

Mockup 2:

That's pretty cool. Always love to see more bullpup markers.

Found a little more time to take a dremel to some parts. The trigger frame arrived a couple days ago, and my suspicion was right: the front bolt holt works perfectly with the sl9 top (bottom the way i orient it) bolt hole.
So the front end is basically together, just need to properly attache the a-5 frame to the tpx and create the linkage arm.
Front end:

Had to sand away a bit of the rail to get the frame to slide on, will probably have to sand off more later to really get it to bolt on. trying to use existing bolt holes.

And the mockup:

even mocked up, with no bolts or screws holding the front to the tpx, its sturdy enough to pickup and carry around. It feels great, and it's only going to get better!

A sense of scale, please forgive my filthy mirror:

It's a little tough to change mags with the thing so loosely held together, but very possible, and not bad. Though it did fall apart in my hands once when I swapped mags a little agressivley. Oh well, no damage done.
Once there is another inch or so between my shoulder and the mag that the stock will add, it will be perfect. For me anyways.
Hope I'm still holding a little interest. Any input is absolutely welcomed.

Curious to see how you're going to get the triggers to work. Some sort of linkage arm I would assume. Also, the first strike upgrade would be a great buy as well. great job so far.

Meant to post this a couple days ago when i did it, and been to busy at work to care when i got home.

But here is my current progress:

This is not a mockup, this is the way it's all fitting together. The entire forward section is bolted together, and attaches with one bolt through the rail of the TPX, and a pin that is in place of the screw underneath the stock front sight. I have made the holes and guides for the linkage arm, and tested it, but I didn't get a chance to attach it to the a-5 trigger assembly, and am actually a little concrned that the stock a-5 trigger pull will not be sufficent to fire the tpx. More on that when i get another day off. The other major bit i didn't get to is the stock:

Which is held on with e tape. It's cut, and fits, mostly, and i know how i want to attach it, bt don't have the parts yet. I want to attach it by using the existing bolt holes on the back of the TPX grip, but need some pvc sheeting to span the gap between the stock and the holes. It should also give it a slightly more solid look. I also need something to clean up and maybe hide the TPX body, so i ordered some more random airsoft parts that i will try to get working. I might also use the parts i already cut off the g36 stock.

But it is going pretty well, and in it's current state is perfect for practicing reloading without looking, which isn't too bad. And it is solid enough that I can practice moving with it and everything, i just can't fire yet. Super lightweight though. Kinda surprised how light it is, but that's probably because my last bullpup project had a large amount of steel.

Sorry about the ramble post. Tired.

But what do you think? Any ideas or thoughts on linkage arms, body shrouds, or better ideas on attaching the stock?

Update!!! Pic Heavy

UPDATE!!!
Been meaning to update this. Got it fully working, if not fully pieced together, still haven't figured out the best way to attach the stock. But I got the linkage arm setup working!!!!!!
Linkage arm and trigger are attached:

And the front folds to allow assembly, and so you can see that the end of the linkage just pushes the actual tpx trigger. Dirty, and not at all sophisticated, but it works.

And this is what the top is hinging on, not actually attached, but held in place, and they can unscrew and be replaced by the normal screw that hold the frame together if i wanted to use it as a pistol.

And it allows me to remove all my mods and use it as a pistol still if i wanted!

You will notice that it looks a little funny though... Kinda sanded a bunch of features off. No more finger grooves, rail is no longer functional, and removed the point of the trigger guard.
You can kinda see the groove for linkage arm that I cut into the rail, works pretty well, but has a little too much friction right now, I need to figure out how to add a spring for just the linkage arm so the return doesn't rely on the actual TPX trigger. But I have faith. Do you?
Linkage arm in the trigger frame:

And the current assembly:

I haven't scratched the g36 rail completely, and in fact it now screws directly onto the rail on top of the sl9 handguard. I just don't like it attached right now until i figure out how to shroud the actual TPX.
If your observant (Or simply not blind) you'll notice I cut in a giant hole in the side of the handguard, and it is for the 12 gram quick changer. And it works great, even if it does look awful.

I added a cheap fore grip, but I think I am going to spring for an AFG, I do think it will feel okay, and at least look better.

So now I'm going to work on improving the trigger pull, stock and the aesthetics. Mostly the aesthetics.

Whatcha think? Anybody have advice? Or ideas on the shrouding of the TPX? Does anybody hate it?

Okay, did some more tinkering with the aesthetics. Kinda a more Tavor look now I think. Little more aggressive.

UPDATE!!
Made some aesthetic changes, but still working on the trigger return spring.

The MP5 handgaurd just slides onto the foregrip rail. And a g36k handgaurd flipped and cut up to use as a body shroud and point to attach the buttstock.

Two triggers? Huh? You mean how you can still see the actual TPX trigger? And thanks. I'm actually thinking that I may take the parts out of the tpx frame entirely and do what the guy that made the Real 68 m14 mod did and just use the internals in a housing all my own. But I dunno, still really difficult to find time to work on it.
