If there's one thing you won't have to worry about on Sprint, it's network congestion.

I used to have Sprint and I loved it. No problems at all. It was just cheaper for me to go back onto my dad's plan, rather than having my own. So I did that.

I had no trouble with sprint.

Anyone could do that. You could go buy a phone from anyone and switch from whatever phone you currently have for free. No activation fee or anything.

It's not some special privilege, I just happen to run into someone selling an s3 for cheaper than what it would cost at full price ($694.99)

I paid $275

Because 1, I know people who have those and the service sucks balls around this area even though they "use sprint or att towers" and 2, I'd still have to buy a phone to use that sort of program, and they aren't the current, nor are they decent phones. All are ****ty knockoffs that I'd still have to buy because it has to be a GSM phone, and no Verizon phone is GSM.

Either way I'd be buying a new phone, I chose the route that I went, to get a brand new s3 instead of a ****ty track/"smart" phone that was on some month to month plan.
You talked like you payed full retail at the Verizon store. You can't buy a phone at full retail price from verizon, they won't let you.

But if you bought it from someone who upgraded, totally different, I know that

We used to have sprint but we were always roaming so they kicked us off their service and then tried to make us pay for ending the contract

Lol, no. The attorney general took care of that.

I figure that Verizon is about to end their coverage with me because I'm doing the same thing at my house. I just have one bar on 1x here though. Makes watching YouTube videos a pain

Our store won't let you buy a phone at retail price. They're only for people who sign contracts.

You're an idiot. Yes you can. You go to them and tell them you don't want the subsidized phone, and that you will pay the full price. For the s3, the full price is somewhere around $695 or something. I was just looking at it today.

That's how you can get around giving up your unlimited data. If you pay full price for the phone through verizon, they let you stay on whatever plan you have.

Then you should call the 800 number next time you're in there, ask for a supervisor, and explain the situation right in front of one of their reps. That policy will end quickly.

time to get some liquor and chicken fingers

are there any new phones coming out in the next 2 months? i have an upgrade coming up and i am going to get an sIII or a windows phone if there is nothing special in transit

edit: you certainly can buy a phone for full retail at the verizon store. i went to buy an sIII a few months ago on an upgrade not knowing my sister used my upgrade and they rang me up for the full $750 or whatever it was at the time

I would never pay that much for a phone but they really won't allow it.

They say theyre for customers who are adding to their contract, not for people who just want to buy one.

They always tell their customers if they want to do that than they can go to the manufacturers website and order it.

It's honestly not a huge deal. Yeah, I was pissed about it, but I honestly haven't even been getting close to my limit.
I understand, but when you have people on the go using their phones as mobile computers, they're going to hit that limit pretty quick. They're already paying for the phone, and the speed of the internet. There's no reason to charge for the actual data other than extortion.

For someone who uses a home computer 2gbs more than reasonable, IMO

I don't have a computer and my phone is never connected to wifi. I use between 3-4gb a month.

Unless you're downloading HD porn all day errrday there's not much of a use for anything over 8gb

Without streaming music/video, I don't see how you'd manage to go over 2GB. I'm on my phone quite a bit and I usually don't go over 1GB.

i mean, the people that hit their limit on the max package are like streaming vid or audio in a high volume or doing other super intensive ****. not many people will do it and if you switch to wifi where available its pretty damn easy to stay under.

i do agree that it is bull**** though.

Drummer, say I got a bunch of left over money from this business I sold and didnt want to get taxed to **** on it. And say I gave a buddy who worked for me off and on a huhe year end bonus. And say he then gave me back most of the money after years end. On a scale of 1-8.8 how illegal is that?

Also not true. I use my laptop all the time. I'm just also always on my phone streaming music, netflix, maps, navigation, facebook, twitter...

I use wifi too when i can and still use 3-5 gigs.. varied from month to month.

I'm an outlier I know, but that's why I need the unlimited data. Going over 2gbs for me, is not an option.

I stream music anytime I'm in my car, which is a lot, as I have a at least a 30 minute commute one way no matter what I'm doing. I watch probably 4-6 hours of YouTube a week. Netflix is usually around 2 movies. My Facebook, Gmail, Google+, weather and Pulse refresh every 5 minutes. I don't use maps or navigation cause I know my roads really well.

I seriously doubt maps and navigation would make up for the difference.

I call bull****.
