On another note, it's really laughable that McCarron has a higher rating than Murray.
Not really, McCarron is a good QB.

I think he's talking about meaning to the fans, and college games definitely mean more to the fans. There is so much passion in college football that you don't see in the NFL. You remember the Landon Collins thing last year? His mom and probably a lot of other people were visibly and audibly upset and wouldn't support his decision. And stuff like that happens every year. If some kid is born in Dallas, goes to UT, and then plays for the Giants in the NFL, nobody gives a ****. There is more tradition, the teams have been around longer than NFL teams, and many of the fans actually went to the schools so they actually have an emotional connection to the team. As a result of that, the games and the rivalries are so much more intense than any in the NFL.

Not necessarily that aspect is good, but the community that forms around those universities brings everyone together, win or lose. People don't even have to be huge football fans to enjoy it.

If you want to dismiss basketbal, fine, but we've wiped the floor with A&M in hoops. Let's play who has more bowl wins in the last decade. I thought we could play who has won more bowl games not ending in ".com" or "car care" but that would be too easy.

Being a butthurt ***** over a football game for the rest of your LIFE is not close to being a good thing, and nothing related to it is good.

Well

Yeah, i agree thats too far. I personally wouldn't be hurting my whole life over a bad loss, but I'd remember them, along with great wins. But thats not unique to just college football tho.

i still don't know what to do with myself, even though my team is good (uf standards) again.

Joe's right. It's just a completely different culture down here. You choose your friends somewhat based on who you go for. It's not a good thing. It's just a thing. Especially in alabama. We don't have pro teams, and when your state wins probably 4 national titles in a row, **** gets pretty real.

Nobody is saying that college football isn't passionate, especially in the "south."

There is dismissing and there is a total lack of a **** being given. If we didn't have a basketball team, I wouldnt notice. If you really want to compare football programs, be my guest.

Not really true at all. The lows are brutal but the highs are even better. I pity people who don't have something they care about like that.

But you do belittle it when you have zero idea what its like. Its wonderful and terrible all at once and you dont really get that.

as for basketball, March Madness is pretty much the greatest sporting event in current american sports only possibly trumped by dat superb owl. even if you hate tree hockey its a blast. regular season is a boring dumpster fire that is way to long and more or less meaningless.

also, TCHS get your ****ing picks in damnit!

you'd be surprised. columbus does not have a football team and ohio might as well not have pro teams in general considering how lack luster **** has been in recent history (and in cinci forever). in columbus OSU football is the be all end all to sports. i am not arguing at all that the posibility of 4 championships is everything there, but it would be just as big here if OSU was in the same position. hell if there was not a ton of **** talk between hillis and joe thomas right now i can almost guarantee that we would still be hearing about as much OSU talk as browns talk and the bucks season is over. people are also soon to forget that Ohio is still a top 5 HS foot ball state. id agree with the rest of the midwest but that **** is huge here.

btw that whole thing is ridiculous. thomas should have skirted the question but its a future HoF player v. a guy that has barely seen the field this year and was a locker room cancer last year...really?

Not the same up north. Besides, not sure where youd find a useless ****** school.

This is why the South is freaking retarded.

Logic need not apply.
