It's funny because they don't realize they use all of that **** on a daily basis. For example, every time you listen to music you're listening to the result of a logarithmic equation. Know of Ohms law? Yeah, that applies to audio.

Half the guys in the parking lot have some ****ty subs in their vehicle. If they know half a thing about audio they've done a few calculations to figure out ideal size for a box.

They don't care about that they just care about how loud the bass drops so they look really cool making me hear their ****ty lil Wayne.
Also if you don't use math you still learn skills you can apply from it and you most likely don't know what you want to do.
Edit: ones that aren't *******es figure it out but most of them just go I have this much money give me most expensive I can get or "dawg which one dees booms the hardest?" |

I own 17 12" rockford fosgate P-90's all powered to 90,000 watts ran from 2 kicker amps that push out over 1 million watts a piece
all the subs are in the same box that is shaped like an M&M |

Eh, I was given a cheap Kicker once and built a box for its specs just to see how it would do. I was decently impressed.
I know when I had my pretty good sub and had it in a ****ty box for a few months until I had time to build a good box it wasn't loud at all.

It was something to do. I'll be doing a decent build in my car at some point. I was more into having good speakers over deep bass. That's why I dropped almost a grand on door speakers n' **** but only 300 on a sub.
