G6R trigger issue

Hey I have a 2011 G6R that came with a violent trigger installed. It has been sitting for a while since I had my luxe. Well I just sold my luxe and now I'm using the G6R.

A friend of mine recently gave me a violent deuce trigger to put on the gun. I watched a video on youtube before I took the original trigger off. In the video I noticed that there was a spring on the inside of the trigger.

My gun did not have this spring inside. I had never noticed a difference before. Every time I used the gun it shot amazing. But now since the new trigger is in it shoots WAY too fast.

My question is, what is the purpose of this spring? Is this causing the issue I'm having?

The spring is to help prevent bounce.

Though with the Vp triggers they are much lighter then stock and generally can be ran without the spring when setup correctly.

When you're saying you're shooting way too fast, are you getting more shots per pull than you're expecting? If you lightly brush the trigger does it fire more than once?

gamer is, of course, correct in that the spring is there generally to prevent your trigger from bouncing against microswitch and setting it off when you don't mean to.

I've used springs from a ballpoint pen before to success (though I don't run a spring in my G6r) in other guns. If this is the issue then try one of those.
