So I've found myself switching back to the MegaTron in the neck. P-rail is cool and all, but there's just a certain tighter clarity along with the hot-fatness of the stock pups that allures me.
In fact, I like it so much that it's getting hard for me to find other pups that I really like, outside of other Gretsch's and TV Jones. And this beautiful old Harmony hollow body armed with those monster DeArmond Gold Tones. Probably going to have to pick that up someday actually...

has anyone been to a lot of concerts/shows? ive been to 3. the first to were bull**** i only went cause the concert and booze was free. but i just went to a mushroomhead concert last weekend and it was ****ing amazing. probably only 120 somethin people at this place in chicago called the logan square auditorium. i know not a whole lot of people like mushroomhead in the first place and they're not as big as they are now but it was still a really bad *** show. i got the guitarists pick and took a video if anyone would care to see.

Dir en Grey x2: First DeG show was the one the did after getting off the Family Values tour, before the promoters told 'em to scale down the cutting, first date with my Ex. it was awesome.
Cradle of Filth/GWAR: Cradle was meh, GWAR was awesome
The Cruxshadows: Very cold, but they did their thing well
She Wants Revenge/Kenna: pretty good show, Kenna's mix was hella loud, but SWR was awesome
Combichrist/Black Light Burns: My favorite show so far. Combirchrist was amazing, and I got to meet Wes Borland after the show and his band was actually kick ***
Samael x2: First time they were right before Amorphis and it was a great Halloween. They signed my DS and a pumpkin thing another band had thrown on stage. 2nd time they had sound issues, and I hated the rest of the show Suicide Silence and Carcass are terrible. ESPECIALLY SUICIDE SILENCE
Android Lust x2: Fun little darkwave band, very entrancing.
I'm going to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra on December 12th. I managed to snag some main floor seats.
Which is ****ING AWESOME.
Also, I picked up another guitar, the ESP EC-401VF in TSB. Found it literally brand new for $450 at a music store in McAllen, TX, and got it. Was a "finish flaw" guitar, and the only finish flaw was a chip in the wood on the back of the guitar.
I'm impressed by the sound of the neck pickup (SD '59). Hate the bridge pickup though (SD JB). I think I might pick up a new one, probably a SD Pearly Gate.
