Making my Etek Ego quieter

I have an Etek2 with an OLED virtue board and a hush bolt. right now i have the dwell set at 13 and its shooting about 270fps but its really loud. what should my dwell be set at? i was told to turn it down but then it just shot way slower. any ideas of how to make it quieter? i am getting a new freak barrel soon and i know that will help a little but i'm looking for more

Really nothing more you can do.... Its a PE poppet... they are naturally loud. Underboring is about the best you can do in terms of sound. If thats not good enough... then i suggest you look into a spool valve

I've never owned an Ego and have never tuned one, but here's my take:

Don't jack the Lpr up so high! You don't need the gun capable of cycling at 25cps when you're capped at 12.5bps. Instead, run a lower Lpr setting and turn up the dwell. That would take care of some kick as well. I've heard a few Egos that weren't all that loud (still loud compared to a spoolie though.)

Egos aren't loud because they are poppit guns -- my mech cockers have been infinitely quieter than any Ego...they're loud because of the tuning.

Not all poppet's are loud, at least not with Bob long poppet's..

Pretty much the same. I personally like the Kush bolt, simply because it has the soft rubber tip that is a little easier on paint... .but if you're expecting it to be quieter, dont count on it.
